    Two things:

    1. The Madden cover has him in a Packer jersey which already had its effect.
    2. Farve is the most durable QB in history

(I'd take Ratliff over Clemens any day of the week.)
Hasn't the situation not changed though, except now we actually have a threat at QB whilst he is healthy?

And it would be better with Chad? The Patriots and Colts are 1 injury away to having their seasons destroyed doesn't mean we count on it.

Not as scared as I was having the injury free Pennington/Clemens/Ratliff or Ainge as our 1/2/3. That's the risk you run. The Pats are one injury away from starting Matt Cassel. The Colts have Jim Sorgi in the wings. I'll take Kellen over Cassel and Sorgi any day. Of course, with all of the injuries that have plagued Favre's career...you know, with that record number of consecutive starts...

ABSOLUTELY! And the offense looked pretty good (and looks like we have good depth) without Favre last night, so imagine when he's behind center. We have a good crop of young receivers, we have talented running backs and a solid line (although I hope we can get better with the run blocking. RG looks a little suspect). Nothing is guaranteed in life, but damn if the promise of a Favre led offense isn't thrilling!

we were one injury away form that anyway with Pennington, or worse them starting by default because Chad may not have beaten out Clemmens to begin with, so having Favre doesn't create that scenario.

OK good points. An yes I think it warranted it's own thread. That is for who posted that ridiculous remark. Just wanted to get some insights on how other fans felt. That is all. Carry on....

The Madden curse is stupid. Brett isn't going to win us a Super Bowl. Not while he is behind the center. I think Brett will be an amazing mentor to Kellen. If Kellen dosent come out of this season a markedly improved QB, he never will be.

The curse is broken because Favre is wearing a Jets jersey now, not a Packers Jersey. It's Green & Gold on the cover not Green & White.

You hit the nail on the head...PR MOVE. I only heard it mentioned once that this is simply a PR move to placate the season ticket holders who are about to get a special bill in the mail.

The curse has already happened, he got booted off a team he loved by a GM he hates. What ego, him thinking he could come back and play, when they have moved on, pro bowl year or not.

I did not get that feeling. I think he was very honest and still feels hurt by being ousted in GB. But I do think the fire is there and all Favre needs is a little motivation to succeed. Who knows how it will turn out? You could be right and he could retire next week, or we could have the most hyped game ever in 2012 when he returns to GB to play the QB as now a 4th season Jet QB.

Beware - we could have an exciting offense this year.
