well that's nice though, I just don't know why Bloomberg thinks Favre would give two shits about his book.
F'ing retarded. Why does bloomie have to get involved in all this shit all the time? You know Brett is like-- this shit sucks. "I want to go throw the pigskin through a tire hanging from a tree, I don't want to talk to these politicians...."
I'd rather he be learning the playbook, but it's nice to give the guy a big welcome. He is a legend after all. Let's hope this is the last of the happy shit until he learns the playbook. The clock is ticking.
Haha, just read the actual link(stupid 10 post limit!)...As if Bloomberg gave him a copy of his book. What a joke.
Let Bloomberg have his fun with Favre & show him that we aren't as bad as everyone outside the tri-state thinks we are. It's great P.R. and you know what, he will be throwing the football at training camp/practice on Saturday. at 1:16PM the press conference at City Hall is over. Now he's going to study the playbook & start throwing on Saturday. At the same time it shows our Packers friends that we do want to see the Jets succeed with Favre. I know they are happy that this has happened & I welcome you Packers fans who are Favre fans to join us this season.
i really am curious as to how long he will play for us. it would be one amazing victory if it was 3 years
2 years, 3 tops. I imagine Brett will get paid a truckload of money to open for us in the new stadium.
Ok, we got the meeting with the mayor out of the way. Now leave the man alone! Unfortunately, I imagine a whole slew of PR opportunities lined up to welcome him to the city. I'm concerned with a couple of possible outcomes: 1) Brett needs time right now to learn the playbook. He's coming in at a disadvantage with the time off and has much more pressing needs than the media junket. 2) Brett gets overwhelmed by the level of attention, decides he made a mistake, and re-retires. While unlikely, the guy can't be comfortable with all of the attention he's getting right now. Hopefully the team steps in and pulls him out of all of this nonsense.
Yeah, I agree. He's not one for all this pomp and circumstance. I, as a former Packers fan, really appreciate this overwhelmingly warm welcome, but he's about playing football, not being a celebrity. He's intentionally stayed a country boy. It'll be okay. He'll get started tomorrow, and everyone will be working toward the same goal.
Totally unnecessary BS. He should be spending the afternoon over at Hofstra, locked in a quiet meeting room with Bubba Franks and Brian Schottenheimer. What a total, hyped-up waste of time.
My guess is some people figure the fans want another Namath, a larger than life media figure. Truth is, we just want a damn good QB. I could care less what he does in his free time in the city.
Haha all part of signing with a team with the media capital of the world. Now let the guy get to work!
