Because they got rid of Vilma prematurely. Any other questions?
Call me a modest young chap. Plus it was estimated that only 50% of the play book could be learned in a months time with an aggressive schedule which limits you somewhat. I stress somewhat as I know each game calls for a different gameplan. I am not going to be the super fanboy and say we are going to the superbowl as we still have some holes to fill (ie. safety - ditch Elam, and CB.) I wonder who will be other cap casualties due to this trade. Any thoughts anyone?

the way i see it, the jets were going to win maybe 8 games, so i chose 1-3 as i think we can be a 9 to 11 game winner now.
the thing that scares me about favre is, he can be a pick machine and a lot of times it's at crucial points in the game when he tries to do too much himself.
now the good points for him is the defense's have to defend the whole field and that should open up this offense after he's had a half season or so to get the play book down!!!!!!!!!! gonna be a fun and interesting season.....

the obvious reaction is to get all fired up, predicting superbowl, or AFC championship.

the reality of it is, we've got almost a whole new team of guys, in very iimportant positions(o-line,QB,etc.) who need to develope a comfort level, with each other. all these guys need to get a feel for each others tendencies, and what not.

our recievers are not used to catching a "Favre" thrown ball!

i think , with all our additions, this first year is going to be very much a "learning experience". i would expect, as the season progresses, we will become a better team, but i say if you don't expect growing pains, you're in for a rude awakening.

With that said, we should go 18-0! GO JETS!!!

It's tough to go from 4-12 to the playoffs. Especially with numerous changes in the team and gameplan now that Favre will be chuckin it! Favre will lose one or two for you due to his gun slinging and he will win two or three due to his leadership and confidence.

    Just beat the Patriots!

COULDN'T AGREE MORE. CHAD WAS THE QUINTESENTIAL TEAM PLAYER.
SORRY TO SEE HIM JUST THROWN OUT THIS WAY.

    This board is hilarious.

Doesn't anyone have anyreason on here?

Everyone either thinks nothing will change, or the Jets are going undefeated.

    How about some objectivity guys?

Anyway, gratz on getting Favre! I think he improves your team, but the important moves were already made on the O-line, IMO.

I think Favre will make this a better team, but the limitations at receiver will still be in place.

I think with the new O-line, the running game will improve. It may be a drastic improvement only because it was so dismal last year.

My prediction....Jets go 10-6, make the playoffs.

I don't think they go much further than that, given that they are bound to run into one of the powerhouse's in the AFC early in the playoffs.

Anyway, I think they have had a good off season and can only improve on last year.

    Kudos to you guys.
