Yes we all know the Qb battle is worth paying attention to, but I recently read that Browns plan on playing some of there starters for the whole 1st quarter and it got me thinking what things do I really need to keep an eye on. For one, can we cover braylon edwards and stallworth with revis and company? Is Neon Leon really as untouchable as everyone's been saying? Can our Oline withstand Cleveland's massive Dline? Is Dustin Keller really a mismatch no matter what? I guess these are the 4 things that really stick out in my mind. What are you guys looking for on Thursday.
To me this will be the thing to watch in the first quarter. There D line is pretty man castle'ish. I said it before i cannot wait to see Keller in some real game action, preseason or not, im excited!!
1) How much of an improvement is Jenkins over DSlob? Alot, I know. 2) Is Eric Smith ready to assume the FT role @ safety? 3) How good is Keller when playing in a real game? 4) What sort of impact will Faneca have on those playing around him? As an aside, no injuries please- it's the one reason why I hate the pre-season.
1. O Line performance/Can we establish a running game 2. Keller 3. Defense in general... Jenkins up front, the LB's, CB play opposite Revis, and maybe a glimpse of Ghoulston. 4. Of course... the QB's. I want to see if the rumors about CP's new throwing technique for added velocity are true... or if its still the same old CPF. We won't see much, but I hope for a few glimpses that might add to my optimism for the season.
Joe Thomas is a beast, seeing if we can get any sacks past him or stuff the outside rungame his playside would be a good measuring stick. how our lb's are in coverage against Winslow. covering braylon edwards. and the first look at the new OL also can keller make the same plays he does in practice(i think so) how good can pennington look before he sucks in regular season?
Naturally even moreso then our qb competition I want everyone to leave the game with any serious bruises. Still, a completely healthy team that is still getting completely dominated at the line of attack will not make me feel really good about our chances this season all the same. I'll add to what I'll look for Is David Bowens really that impressive at ILB? Can Calvin Pace and/or Gholston apply that pressure we need on the qb to force bad throws? Can Stuckey/Smith make a case for being our slot wr?
I'm going to agree with Champ on this one. Injuries should really be the only concern going in to any game that means nothing. You can't evaluate talent if they're being carted off the field. I hate the preseason.
On the nail buddy. Minor concern here is Champ. Am I the only one to see a "kinder, gentler, Champ 69, Latest"?- (Robin Williams- Aladdin)
Some good ones in here. I look forward to seeing how Stuckey does. Let's hope he can stay healthy because he seems like he can be an effective #3 for us.
sort of... The thing of it is, which of the two QB's hits the WRs crisply out of the break. Thats what leads to YAC.
good one here sounds like he's been throwing some pretty deep passes which is a nice change of pace from the dink in dunk....
