.....Asked how Jenkins will adapt to the 3-4 scheme after having played as a 4-3 tackle in his career, Eric Mangini said, "He'll be a perfect fit."

Joking about the size Jenkins brings to the middle of the Jets line that Robertson didn't have, Mangini said Jenkins makes the Jets' 3-4 scheme "a 3-4 1/2."

    Wouldn't it be a 3 1/2 - 4?

yup yup. maybe jenkins does so well on the line that the lb'ers feel like they have an extra half-harris wandering around making plays.

    could catch though!

I love how Jenkins talks in that article about not being interested in glory or stats - perfect attitude for a NT.

I definitely think that Jenkins will make a TREMENDOUS difference in the defense, namely stopping the run. Even though he is still learning the position, the fact that we have a guy with enough size to play in the middle of a 3-4 will be an upgrade from last season. How many times last year did an opposing teams' running back get 3+ yards on a carry before even being contacted by a Jet defender. The D-line routinely got blown off the ball last year, and having a guy at 370lbs with Pro Bowl type talent should be a tremendous asset to stopping the run.
