He never really had the opportunity.

He was given starts in 2006 with the Jets when they had the four-headed runningback of Blaylock, Leon, Houston and Barlow, but the Jets still went out and got Thomas Jones after seeing him for a good portion of that year. It's clear he was the best RB in 2006, but I could understand why the Jets didn't want to risk going into 2007 with only Leon at the helm.

Isn't that the point of this thread? They say he's NOT an every down back and I Happen to think he's underrated. I don't recall at any time when the position was wide open and he didn't live up to expectations! Stop, Look, Listen.

    Chad Pennington.
Underrated, unappreciated and under estimated. Season after season after season after...

I waited for Chad to do anything to warrant all the defense I put up for him for years, and he failed. I would say that is overrated to me.

Yeah mean, under-thrown, under the yards necessary, and under scrutiny for good reason. He's not horrendous, but he's hardly underrated. I think he's rated exactly where he's supposed to be.

This is a nice thread and relief from all the Favre BS, good idea.

Brad Smith. I like what he brings in the way of throwing defenses off guard and is real distraction. I know I'll get a lot of flack here but I like him at relief QB and think he will excell this year. Here's hoping.

yeah, the only reason i opened this thread was because i saw JJ was the most recent poster; who's posts are quite often funny and accurate.

Mike Nugent. He came here under the scrutiny of being a kicker picked in the second round. He started off with some strength and conditioning problems. He has worked hard and turned it around to the point where he is a solid K - something that fans often take for granted.

HA! I'll consider him a solid kicker when he is known as Mr. Automatic from <40 yards, and a good bet to make a 40-50 yarder. Oh yeah, and he needs to increase his touchbacks.

Right now, he is no better than average, and nowhere near worth his draft position.
