Anyone excited for tonight's game? I am. I have missed football BIG TIME! It will be nice to watch the young Redskins too since I went out to training camp a couple times this summer. Should be fun.
John Madden doing a whole lot of defending Brett Favre... Surprise surprise... Oh, and Colt Brennan is looking spectacular...
Brennan has to do this against 1st teamers before I will be impressed. The Colts are playing a very vanilla defense and Brennan is facing many players who won't make it to the regular season.
Well duh, Cakes... He's playing with 3rd teamers against 3rd teamers.... That doesn't mean he didn't look impressive in his first pro action... He made great decisions, put the ball where it needed to be, and showed good pocket awareness and footwork.... You can't ask for anything more from your 6th round rookie in his first pro action...
We see this every year, though. I don't care that he's playing with 3rd stringers, but playing against them means something to me here. The Colts under Tony Dungy are notorious for not showing much of anything in preseason games. The Colts defense is simply not presenting a huge challenge tonight. I need to see Brennan later this month against the Bills, Jets (I'll be there), or Panthers and against at least 2nd teamers. The Jaguars game won't interest me. The 4th week of preseason is true garbage.
I'm with you on this... Colt Brennan has to be impressive against players with talent before he can be called a draft steal or a stud. I promise you this: When Colt Brennan gets hit, he'll play poorly. He has big time happy feet. At Hawaii, he was rarely hit because of all of the quick routes his wideouts ran. All I'm saying is wait for this cocky SOB to get hit and you'll see the real Colt Brennan.
