I have a feeling they are going to have a high pick this year. Not just the injuries, but the new coaching staff and the general mentality of the skins. Then again, thats what they said about the 2006 Jets.
They still have a solid running game with a two headed monster of Portis and Betts and added several new targets for thier young QB Campbell in the draft (WR at 31 now hurt TE at 48 and WR again at 51). I think they'll be fine if they stop the injury train now.
NFL East is prob going to be the toughest division. I think it will be Cowboys, Giants, Eagles in playoffs this year. Washington just cant get it together Snyder wants to be Steinbrenner but just cant pull it off.
They definitely have coaching issues. The offensive coordinator is not going to be calling the plays. It's going to be Zorn and Bugel. I hear Campbell is having problems learning the system.
I agree, although someone has to finish last in that division. I can't see them winning less than eight games at worst. Schedule's not too tough (NFC West, AFC North) and they have talent on both sides of the ball. Great O-line (when healthy), great running game, very good secondary, and Taylor is instant pass rush. If Campbell can manage games, they could easily finish in front of Philly and the Giants.
I hope they have a high pick, that way all of the picks will be near with one another(NYJ 3rd, NO 3rd, WSH 4th,)
Yea, that Divison is tough. One or two players or plays could be the difference between playoffs and Golf this year.
Can you explain "coaching issues"? Its still way early in preseason, but so far things seem to be moving along pretty well, injuries aside. Zorn and co will doubtless make some n00b mistakes. But he seems to be driving the players pretty hard and so far they're loving it. The offense has added some weapons and to a man they are eagerly anitcipating a much more wide-open game plan than Gibbs ran. On the other side of the ball, Blatche will be hard pressed to keep the defense playing at as high a level as Greg Williams did. But he's been a DC before, and represents stability from the previous regime, and if the Skins can stop hemmoraging linemen the defense should be OK. Not sure where rumors about Jason Campbell get started. Peter King visited camp and said Campbell is having maybe the best TC he's seen a QB have, ever in his career. Take that for what its worth - its only training camp, and its only Peter King:grin:, but it doesn't point to Campbell having problems at this stage. Cheers.
