conditional pick that can turn into a 3rd maybe... MAYBE a 2nd if he plays and starts two full years for us.
no way anything earlier than a 4 if it takes a 4 plus 5,6,or 7 thats fine but early picks are way to valuable for a 38 year old player who might play 1 or 2 years at most
I would probably give up a 3rd and 5th if it came down to it. that 1st round pick that the packers are talking about is complete nonsense
Probably a Conditional 3rd..and maybe a player.........depending on his play and our record........maybe something like improves to a 2nd if we make playoffs or even a 1st if we get to SB
NOTHING AT ALL. I believe he's not worth anything. It makes no sense to bring him here at his age and having to learn a new system. What, get him here for one year maybe two? And if he doesn't get us to the SB would it have been worth it to waste those years trying? I say let him stay retired, enjoy his life, maybe join the Arena Football League, but no way would I want him on this team. We've gone out and beefed up our OL and DL moving forward with Clemens, Pennington and Ainge... Don't get me wrong...Favre is a HOF QB, but I don't think he'd be a benefit at this point of his life.
This is a good poll and the only way of really gauging how badly people want Favre. I went for Nothing at all - I don't believe he would give enough in the one year he would play. He was one play from the Super Bowl last year and still retired as an emotional wreck. Why would he want to come back in 2009 after (most likely) falling at an earlier hurdle with the Jets? I also don't think there's any chance of it happening because it looks like the Packers have been playing cute, contacting the Jets and then announcing that the Jets are interested in Favre. They are playing a game here.
Pennington, and a 4th. Thats the only way this works. CP becomes the backup at GB, Clemens sits behind Favre. And if you can get Favre for TWO years, next you start trying to extend Clemens for 3 years beyond his current deal to lock in a lower price.
I think a proven commodity in the most important position on the field which is one of the Jets biggest questions marks is worth a first-rounder. (Especially in light of the fact that this is an organization that traded a second-rounder for J-Mac and doesn't exactly nail the first round of the draft.)
