Sounds good, Murrell 2878. The Jets can "make my day" by getting Gholston under contract. That being done, I'm down with Training Camp for '08.

  3. Yea...im surprised there isnt alot more excitement on this board. The excitement that surrounds the first couple weeks of TC is one of my fav. times of the year.

The Good News: Light at the end of the tunnel.

The Bad News: Next, exhibition games filled with players who won't be on the roster September 7th.

With all due respect, beep me AFTER the Jets actually won anything - I mean, wake me up when there actually is something to hope for. The way I see it, 8-8 seems about where this year's team is destined.

I am not happy since my car broke down and I am unable to travel to training camp. Besides that, I am excited.

oh man. thank god. this offseason was long. i'm limping to the finish line. i need a preseason game. i don't care if we suit all of ur grandmothers up for it. i just need to see some jets unis battling other unis on the field. this offseason stuff is crazy. can't believe i've survived so many of them. i'd like to finally find out what the offseason is like after a superbowl win already.

What's the scoop with Golston? Last year there was a lot of reports / discussion about the Revis' situatuation. However, this year as training camp is starting and Golston is still unsigned there has been very little information about the contract negotiations. Any rumors on the sticking points between the Jets and Golston?

Yeah, I'm the same way. I like to see who stands out and try to guess which ones will make the team, etc. I like to see how the lines perform and how the QB looks, etc.

I admit though, that the last two preseason games get kinda boring... especially the last one, where hardly anybody plays the first team out of fear of injury.

I think the first preseason game of '06 was vs. Tampa Bay, the second game was vs. Washington when Leon took one back to the house and d'brick delivered a block some 25 yards down field. Kellen may have thrown a TD late in that Washington game, too.

Remember the aftermath of the Tampa Bay game that year: Cimini wrote that Chad had reinjured his arm because he was seen talking to Mangini in the lockerroom afterwards. Chad got nailed on a blitz near the goal line, if I remember correctly.

The TC schedule on the Jets site says it doesn't start until tomorrow. What is going on today?

I guess not everybody is into Preseason games like some of us.

We have some friends who live in south Jersey and, not surprisingly, are Eagles fans. The guy claims he's die-hard Eagles and he does know most of the players, so I though he'd be into a game.

So I invite them to the preseason Eagles game a couple of years ago. I think this is the one where The Jets were behind and (was it Brooks Bollinger?) who lit up the field in the 4th quarter?

Anyway, the Jets "won" the preseason game, so the next time we played the Eagles in preseason, I call him up and he says, "I don't think so... I think we'll pass." When I asked him why he says, "Well, it's only a preseason game and come on... they don't count!"

Here I figured he'd enjoy watching his team (for free, no less... the tickets still cost me face value) regardless if it was preseason or not. When I told him I like Preseason games because it gives us a chance to see how the new guys do, he says, "Well, half of them won't be there in September, so what's the use of watching them?"

This is true, but what about the other half... watching guys like Faneca and Jenkins and Gholston and Keller and others. Some guys are just not into the reseason games like true fans are, which is why there's hardly any attendance.

Sounds more like your friend doesn't want to watch his team get beat by scrubs, 227.

So will you be reporting from camp again this year? I really want to try to make it out there at least once, being the last year it's local to me and all.
