NFL | L. White trying to keep covered Mon, 3 Apr 2006 18:34:44 -0700 Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White wore a loose-fitting warm-up suit during his Pro Day in an effort to not show much of his body. He drew audible groans from NFL scouts at the NFL Combine when he showed his chest. After seeing White at the NFL Combine, one NFL general manager said, "The guy needed a bra, it was ridiculous. You come to the combine looking like that and you want to be a first-round pick? Come on. The guy had obviously been doing nothing." Broncos | L. White has dinner with team Mon, 3 Apr 2006 18:34:29 -0700 Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White had dinner with the Denver Broncos Saturday, April 2.
He has potential to become the steal of the draft if he keeps dropping. The comparisons to Clarrett are ridiculous, his attitude needs to improve no doubt but is nowhere near Clarrett levels..
I agree with a lot of the anti-White sentiment. I know you can only take some much out of these pro-days, but the fact that Bush dominated him on the bench press was disturbing IMO.
hes just lazy and lacks initiative, he actually has enough talent for the NFL unlike Clarett, who even if the best he could be was likely just a 3rd down/goal line back, thing is white may never turn it around, its more than likely he just ends up a bust because of his turdish ways
White just needs to go to the right place...I think the two teams he is likely to go to are the Broncos or the Steelers...He would do quite well in either place...
Despite his laziness, the guy has alot of talent and will be a 1st round pick. A team like the Broncos, Colts or Steelers will probally take him.
He has a good chance of going #22 to Denver, #30 to Indianapolis or #32 to Pittsburgh. I guess he could drop out of the 1st round though...
Didn't Curtis Martin go on record as saying he really liked him? Kinda ironic that someone like Curtis, who is all about professionalism, would jump on the bandwagon of this kid. Although, it was well before all of this recent stuff so who knows if Curtis still feels the same way.
Curtis also hangs out with Mike Tyson, who is an insane nutjob. Let's not mistake Curtis's standing in the community for him being an excellent judge of character.
Yeah but Curtis would be one of the best role models for the kid if we do end up drafting him (97th pick or later). Curtis has a sick work ethic & is one of the classiest guys in the sport.
I don't trust anything Jason Cole writes on things like this because he's a Miami Dolphins beat writer. I saw White play and he impressed me more than Bush when I was thinking of his potential as a pro. I would be very happy to see my Patriots take White at 21 because he's exactly the type of big, probably very durable north/south back that's perfect for running in bad weather late in the season.
Based on what Mangini has been saying about the type of player he wants, and if the article about White's chest is accurate, I doubt we would touch him.
I saw Clarett's first game as a Buckeye. . . he was a joy to watch. It wasn't until later that everybody started hearing reports of his 'tude. His biggest problem was being friends with LeBron James, and seeing what James got when he went to the NBA. For some reason Clarett thought he was that level of talent, too. Clarett could stand an etiquette lesson from LeBron also. White may need to have his hand held a little. A few good hits in camp by guys trying to make the squad too may wake him up.
