Maybe it was the other way around. I was an AFC guy of course, I mostly watched NFL 79 with Bryant Gumbel, before he became so important.
I know I was watching some games back then buit I was so young I cannot remember, the first season I can remember is 1981. I loved both pre-game shows, they used to be on at different times. If the Jets were playing at 1 and the Giants at 4 they'd show the NBC pregame at 12:30 and CBS at 3:30. I loved NFL'81('82, etc...) but I loved the NFL Today intro where they'd show the game sites and Musberger would say "You are looking live at..."
Only thing I remember about him was Francesa killing him in an interview when he was trying to say how it was a great thing for the fans to charge them $50 a year to be on the waiting list.
Jay Cross gets the "Justin McCareins award for dropping the ball when it counts" award. He, ironically gets a job at the Railyards, where he failed to beat the only other Dysfunctional Douchebag James Dolan out of wasting an opportunity to elevate their franchise. If i ever see Jay Cross, i will smack him about the face and neck with the head of Sheldon Silver. Professional assclowns!
