i really like stuckey. I think he can be a pretty nice 3rd receiver (hopefully he can beat out brad smith). With henry, it think he has more upside because of his height, but stuckey is much more of a sure thing and is much more likely to have an impact this year.
Yeah, I thought that way about Matthew Hatchette once. Then I realized I'd rather the guy with the hands than the guy with the height.
From the OTA reports it sounds as if Marcus Henry has both the height and the hands. If that's the case then he should be money in the red zone.
Well that is good then, for all you can learn about a player without pads and without full installation of the playbook. I hope he pans out.
Stuckey is from my hometown, Warner Robins. (LLWS Champs, too). Here's hoping he beats off the injury bug and we find him on the field on weeks 1-17, because he's talented.
Am I the only person who thinks that Stuckey is way overrated? Yea, I would love to see him do well, but I have no high hopes at all for a guy who can't seem to get on the field. He was drafted in the 7th round, it is rare to see guys even in the 1st round do well nowadays...
How can he be over rated? He was a 7th round pick, who is now playing the #3 spot. Coaching staff seems to think he is under rated. I agree with them
his injury was a stress/micro fracture in his foot, which mangini gave him a year to heal so it would be healed 100%. he should be fine now.
Well going into his senior season he was projected as a late 1st/early 2nd rounder bby a lot of places. He then broke his foot and ran on it beforw it was fully healed, leading to bad workout numbers; a bad choice by Stuckey, which landed him at the other end of the draft. He re-injured the same foot this past year, but hopefully a full year of R&R (and not having to worry about things like the combine) will help him live up to his pretty considerable talent level. His hands are like glue and he's a quick little bastard; he could easily slot in as Coles' replacement whenever he decides to hang the cleats up if his foot holds up.
All the Scouting Reports on him say that he got very good hands, and is a natural handscatcher. And from the tape i?ve seen, i also saw some good hands. His knock is his lacking athletecicm. He?s not really fast or strong, he has trouble getting off the bump. He doesn?t really have quick feet, so he doesn?t get seperation and doesn?t run routes as sharp as you would wish.
not comparing stuckey to a Jets great, but aren't those essentially the same knocks that were held against Chrebet? especially in regards to the route running?
Don't forget, Santana Moss missed his first year, then emerged later and was pretty decent, I'd say. And he was a little guy, too. I'm not concerned about last year's injury. And yes, I'm excited about Stuckey, because he seems like a speedster as well as a good route-runner.
Let us all pray that Stucky is the real deal. Brad Smith can't catch a cold and the lack of a third receiver will eventually become a big problem. Manginis Gym scrub Smith should be on special teams where he belongs.
We should also have Smith line up behind center and "fake em out" as to whether it will be a pass or run play. Does anyone remember the one time Smith threw the ball last year? If awards were given out for the "Shittiest Ball Thrown in 2007" it would have gone to Smith- fade to the corner of the end zone if I'm not mistaken. It was the kind of throw which made you really question whether the guy was really a QB in college.
I wouldn't give up on Smith as a WR yet. It's a new position for him and they've had him doing all kinds of things since he's been here. He's a great athlete, if nothing else great on special teams, but I wouldn't be surprised if he emerged as a good WR.
Nope it was a pass to Baker that was way behind him. I think we settled on a FG after that in the 2nd Pats game.
