I was wondering how long it would take for this nonsense to surface..some say the United States are the biggest terrorists!
True, it sounds like he was not actively involved. I hope that's the case, I really like this signing.
The child doesn't pick the father. It's really tough to criticize the son for the mistakes his father made.
I like the signing too, he is still young with not that much traction on the tires. I hope he pans out but either way competition makes everyone better.
I like the signing. Looks like it?s gonna be Chatman or Smith in Camp, or does anyone think we?ll carry 5 RBs?
I hope not. We aren't solid enough at other spots to carry 5 RBs, plus, how do you use them all? It would be like having 6 pairs on underwear.... I am thinkin this means Danny Woodhead will have a hell of a time stayign on the roster, and also one of the NFLers we signed will likely get cut too....I like Smith over Chatman.
I think it will be 3 RB Jones Washington Chatham 2 FB Richardson Smith - also used as HB in case of injury I think Woodhead will be a practice squad guy as well I think we will try and make him a slot WR/Gimmick back
I think one of Chatham/Richardson/Smith won?t make the roster. And a 5?7 ft. WR, who didn?t even play WR before? I hope we sign Woodhead to the PS, and see how he developes, but i doubt he?ll ever be more than a 3rd string-RB or PS-Guy.
Whichever RB we sign to the practice squad the Giants will just sign them away anyway. They seem to have a habit of doing that lately.
Smith, I like the signing. It allows depth. Never can have too much of that, especially in pre-season. Expect a very Smith-Chatman-Woodhead-y four weeks in August.
I don't know if anyone posted this yet but... "The New York Post reports New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini said RB Musa Smith will be counted on for more than offense. Mangini said, "Musa is a guy that we’ve looked at and where he brings value and flexibility is on special teams. He’s done a lot on special teams over the course of his career. He’s another guy you have some flexibility with, whether you want to play him at running back or whether you want to play him at fullback. And he has added depth to the special teams competition"
I think Smith makes the team. He has a proven track record on Special Teams, can handle halfback, and has the size to play fullback if needed. This may put the heat on Chatman. Woodhead's only shot is he proves to be an ace at returning punts. long shot. I like Jehuu Caulcrick's potential alot, but PS looking likely with this signing. FB Valentine also looking PS at best.
I love the emphasis placed on the importance of Special Teams with this franchise. Of course it stems from Westhoff even though he's taking his leave this year, but it's an aspect that it not ignored in the least. Some teams do not place a priority on it, I'm glad the Jets do.
