Maybe this belongs in the obvious draft forum, but nobody would respond then am I right? So feel free to move but I've gotta ask: How many (and what rounds) picks do we have next year? If somebody has the answer, include the possible 2nd rounder for Vilma. (Right? It can range from a 2nd-4th?)

I think.. ROUND 1 ROUND 2 ROUND 3 ROUND 3 (NO) via VILMA trade, could be a 2nd and if so we give up our 4th ROUND 4 ROUND 4 (WAS) pete kendell trade ROUND 5 ROUND 5 (DEN) pending on playing time, can be up to a 2nd rounder OR a NO pick ROUND 6 ROUND 7 Expect massive amounts of trading.
From what i know we should have a good amount of quality picks... A 2nd or 3rd Rounder from New Orleans for Vilma I Think a 4th for Douchebag Kendall and a 6th-3rd rounder from Denver for D-Rob. To Early for me to be talking Draft but at this point if theres one guy we get i would go with Rey Maluaga LB from USC , Would fit great in our 3-4 or even Jenkins from OSU would be sweet alongside Revis. I'll check back with this in about 9 months.
The Pick from New Orleans will depend on Vilma's playing time it could go i believe from a 3rd Rounder to a 2nd Rounder and D-Rob i think is based also on playing time.
So even if they don't have the greatest year state wise, but they start every game.. we get a 2nd and a 3rd? If thats the case than I would easily pencil in a 3rd for DROB.
I believe that the D-Rob trade is based on him playing in over 75% of the snaps. I'm not 100% sure that the number is right but I remember the article saying that only one Denver lineman hit the number last year because of the constant rotation that they do.
I believe this is the draft that puts us over the top in terms of getting the proper depth, and filling in small holes in order to be a long time contender. We'll certainly have the ammo.
Yeah so we could have something like a 1st, 2nd, 2nd (Vilma), 3rd, 3rd (Drob), 4th (Kendal), 5th, 6th, 7th. That's 3 first day picks and if we were at last year's draft it would be 5 1st day picks. If these picks pan out for us and they can all play solid we should have great starters AND depth for years to come. I'm just excited about the potential we have set-up for ourselves. I do think we'll be around 10-6 this year but if we don't lose anybody and nobody gets extremely worse, we could have a lot of great rookies on a great team next year. It kind of reminds me of a few years ago when the Chargers were good and yet they had the most starting rookies out of any team in the NFL (it was like 4 or 5) and ever since they have been argueably (sp) a top 5 NFL team. I think we're on the brink of stepping up to the elite step if we don't have a classic Jets letdown.
seems to be right, but we?ll have to see what we get for Vilma and DRob. A 3rd for DRob only based on playing time seems to be too much, i think there are other factors included in that deal (health, contract). And not only does Vilma have to play, he also has to resign with the Saints, which is far from a safe thing.
i doubt there will be anyway, to get a #2 for him. We?ll have to wait and see, we may never get to know the terms of the deal.
Exactly. There is no chance in the world we get a third for him. Probably a 4th at best and most likely a 5th.
I searched all over the web a couple of days after the Robertson trade looking for details. There was no clear answer and official details of the trade were never released so far as I know. A NY source suggested that it was a 5th rounder that coud go as high as a second or as low as a seventh depending on PT. A Denver source said that the most likely scenario was either no pick or a 7th. I don't think we know at this point.
someone should tell those guys what a trade is. But i agree, noone knows what we get for him, and we might never know the details of the Deal. It may also be a pick in 2010 or one in 2009 and one in 2010, who knows.
If Robertson fails to make the team, the Broncos will not be required to send the Jets a draft choice, though if he does make the team and plays well, the Jets could receive a pick as high as the third-round. If Robertson plays in less than 65 percent of the defensive plays in 2008, the Broncos will not have to give the Jets a 2009 draft pick. The Jets will get up to a third-round pick in the unlikely event Robertson is on the field for more than 65 percent of the plays. The Broncos use an eight-man rotation up front so it’s unlikely any defensive lineman, much less Robertson, will play two-thirds of the snaps.
