The other day I started a little thread stating i didnt like the way our FO conducted interviews or press conferences. Next thing I know a bunch of J-Os start saying how, why do we need entertaining press conferences and look how Belichick or Parcells do it or stating that we have to chose if we want to win games or have good press conferences. How about this crazy idea lets win games and have some insight from our front office. I know there is common knowledge information that can be commented on and I know that our head coach and Tannenbaum can make some coherent statement regarding the state of our team. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, IT CAN EASILY BE BOTH and once again I support the way in which our FO is putting this team together and their overall approach to the game of Football it is their approach to the press that I don't care for.
Once again why should I ignore it I think we should get some type of opinion from our FO about something not just nonsense
Your name should be changed to "GluttonforPunishment" . I know where your coming from but your just asking for abuse with this thread. Stiffen up that upper lip. P.S. You'll also get shit for posting in the wrong room.
my god you are insane, do you really give a flyin fuck what they say? just watch the game, and the players and come up with your own ANALysis.do You have to hear someone else tell you what your eyes can see, no matter what tangini says or doesnt say, doesnt change the outcome of a play or a quater, or the whole game! they are just meaningless words.
what room should it be posted in, I thought this was the right place but move it if it is and I apologize if its in the wrong place. "Glutten" wow I guess you can't have an original thought, I guess we have to blindly follow without questioning the intelligence of our FO. now remember I don't like him but Belichick and Parcells are proven winners, I like our guys I just want to know what they are thinking once in a while
If you actually like them then you can respect the fact that they don't really want you or someone that actually matters (like the competition) to know what they're thinking. What kind of information are you after anyway? What, in your mind, would make the press conferences better?
I know what I see and I can analyze the game all I want but that means sh-t. I want to know what they were thinking sometimes.
The problem is when asked a simple question about the starting QB situation.... how about answering the question with some thought like we like this guy because or that guy because or heres a novel approach have a set of balls and say we will not comment until whenever because ........ This FO needs to be straight up not wishy washy with there comments like we are a bunch of idiots
Oh sweet. Two threads on a topic that absolutely does not need to be discussed. You sir, are a credit to public discourse. Eric Mangini and Mike Tannenbaum should spend less time working on rebounding from an abyzmul, I mean, abysmal season and more time working on their press conference demeanor. You know what? Too much emphasis is placed on so-called "football knowledge" and "credentials" during these coach interview processes. Howard Stern still works in the New York area, correct? We should have him coach the Jets. Then we'd have some entertaining press conferences. 0-16, but who cares? We want entertaining press conferences. Maybe John Madden for some color commentary? We could maybe work in a reality TV show. OK, I tire of the sarcasm. Just shut up, don't start anymore threads along these lines and we should be good. I mean seriously- press conferences? Who gives a rat's ass? One more thing, since we're picking knits: "JETSJETS?" Unacceptable. Can't we have both insightful commentary AND clever names from our forum members? IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, IT CAN EASILY BE BOTH
if you guys ae truley fans you know what I am talking about. It does not take much more time to answer a question in an appropriate manner than it does in an arrogant one. They are answering anyway why not do it professionally
KSJets that might be the only real answer to this whole thread and in the end I will have to submit to dealing with it. That reply was a true YODA response....may the force be with you......... LOL
The front office doesn't and shouldn't give a rats arse about what the fans think. The only person that matters to the front office is Woody Johnson...he's the only person they have to answer to. He's the one that signs their paychecks It's their team, not ours. It's their QB situation, not ours - it's their WR corps, not ours - it's their draft, not ours - see what I'm getting at? None of our input or speculation about thing that they're doing matters...at all. Following and rooting for the team doesn't make any of us an actual part of it. We don't get paid by the team, we don't put on a uniform, our opinions don't matter. Going to the stadium and cheering or buying something with the team logo on it doesn't make us part of the team...regardless of how long we've been doing it. They money we spend on tickets and merchandise fattens the pockets of the owner in addition to the multi-billion dollar NFL television deal. The whole "we the fans pay good money" argument doesn't mean a thing to the team - and it shouldn't. To them, we're just consumers. So the notion of telling us "what they're thinking" is just ridiculous. It's not their job to keep us fans informed or happy. It's their job to try and win as many games as they can. If they throw us a bone here and there, that's just great, but it's not their responsibility. I could care less about how much they share with the fans. As long as they're doing the best they can to but a good product on the field, then they're doing their jobs.
I have no problem with you wanting more information from the front office, although I certainly don't agree - the BS from people like Parcells and Herm did nothing for me, and I believe that you are sadly mistaken if you think you were really learning anything meaningful. On the other hand, your characterization of the posters who disagree with you as "a--Holes," "J-Os," and people who are not "truley fans" demonstrates pretty clearly that you don't have a clue how to have a civil conversation with someone. Your need to demonstrate it twice over (with two threads) just makes it more absurd and pathetic.
