Great news. For close to the vet's minimum probably, this is as good a player as you could have hoped for.
Last year he served us well for a last minute pickup. I like the guy and think he will be even better this year.
Very nice, he's very good depth for us. I'm not going to lie though, I hope someone else steps up for the #2 CB spot. I'd like to see Miller continue what he had going last TC or Lowery surprise us early. Hell, even Woolfork could give us a nice surprise if he can stay healthy. Poteat plays very soundly and has all the fundamentals down, but just doesn't have the ceiling of these guys.
I can't remember there being a heck of a lot of Poteat haters, at least there weren't many in this thread.
I think we'll be hurting if Poteat wins the starting spot, I think he's a tough, quick little dude with great instincts, and I think if we get injuries, he can provide a lot of support that a younger, less-experienced guy might not be able to do... but I don't want Hank Poteat to start.
I'm really happy we brought back Poteat. I don't know why, but he has gained the respect of many NY fans. He's a gamer. He's not the most talented player on the team, but during games he doesn't make many mistakes. Glad to see him back.
Good solid Corner and besides Darrelle the other corner spot was pretty vacant with Justin miller and David Barrett who are more of a 3rd Corner then a starter as so is Poteat but as i watched him Last season if i had to have anybody on our roster start in the 2 Corner spot it would be Poteat. Good Re-Signing.
He held down the #2 corner spot pretty well last season. He should be able to be even better when covering lesser receivers.
You know this is a thread about Hank Poteat, right? ...and Boston sucks: The Pats, Celtics, and Red Sox are probably the most annoying teams in their sports. Poteat should return to his starting spot at #2 corner, but his veteran knowledge should be very good for Dwight Lowery. Hopefully he can show him the way.
