ding ding ding, that is the underlying message i heard all through that little piece, and then theres this $$$ and this $$$ and we will have this available $$$

its ALL about the money they can make, they will do whatever they can to put things that cost you money in your face if not force them upon you.

remember when you used to be able to bring lunch to games? i dont remember jets games but i sure do remember going with my parents to mets games and bringing a whole cooler worth of stuff into the game to eat and drink while we watched. try doing that today and see what happens.

With the season tickets, where I sit, will I sit in the same section in the new stadium?

That sentiment is ridiculous. It will be the Jets stadium for Jet home games. Period.

9/11 is to blame for that - not the Jets. Everything changed with regard to what you could bring into stadiums after that horrible day. I'd rather keep it the way it is now than let people roll coolers or bring back packs into games now. This is the world we now live in.

i will say this, due to having 2 less super bowls then the giants, i will bet my house they will get to open the new stadium on opening day 2010, we will get to open up the preseason, and it will probaly be against them

Does this one game really matter that much????? What is the issues, that after the first game the stadium will be "used?"

The team we root for is going to play for decades a new state of the art stadium and we are going to start bitching now about who gets to play the first game??? Jet fans find more to complain and worry about than any group of fans on earth, particularly when it comes to stadiums.

However, put that stadium in Queens, make it a dump that is really a baseball stadium, have the team share it (there's that word again) with a baseball team, have the baseball team get all the priorities and have the Jets be second class citizens to point of losing home games in October if the baseball team makes the playoffs, and Jet fans (at least those in Queens and LI) are in football heaven. Go figure.

There are so many other similar situations. A few NFL teams share a stadium with baseball teams - Miami, Oakland, Minnesota to name a few.

Hockey and basketball teams share arenas as a rule. Why is that not a problem for those teams' identities, but the Jets being EQUAL partners with the Giants in a new stadium dooms the Jets to second class citizens forever. Give it up already and enjoy what looks like a great stadium.

The Clippers and Kings are being treated just like . . . .. the Jets were treated in Shea. Doesn't anyone remember how bad THAT was for the Jets??????

willie its the second class citizen thing that some people feel. it makes no difference who plays there first but some fans just always feel like they are getting the short end of the stick. its a respect thing.

i had thought the no coolers into games happened well before 9/11, although i could surely be wrong. i dont remember bringing that type of stuff since i was a kid, but whatever the reason it sucks as it was much nicer, cheaper to bring a lunch tnan have to buy a 7 dollar hotdog.

I would not say being in Shea was Football Heaven but least the team was in NY, I still can't stand the fact that James Dolen & his goons ruined the West Side Stadium, the New Meadowlands is going to be an amazing stadium, but it failed in comparison to The West Side One, even the idea of the Jets going back to Queens with a football only Stadium sounded good, but thats all over now, the Jets are in Jersey with the Giants for the next 99 years so we just have to deal with it, be happy it's 50-50 this time, but I myself hate sharing with those assclowns and you can bet your ass the Giants will open that Stadium for the regular season, probably a prime time Thursday night game, if the NFL was smart they'd put it Jets Vs Giants, then both teams open the stadium, but again, it would probably be a Giants home game so our Jet season ticket holders would be screwed anyway.

So you'd rather have the Jets play in a rat hole in NY and be beholden to the Mets than in a state of the art football stadium in NJ that the Giants also play in when the Jets are on the road????

Then again, why would Johnson build a state of the art stadium in Queens and 1) reward the same idiot NY and NYC politicians that killed the WSS (Queens is NYC) and 2) pay full price for a stadium when he can have the same stadium and the same revenue for half the price????

They should have jets vs giants on opening day and let them have a lottery 1/2 jets fans 1/2 giants fans. If thats the case I hope the jets are the away team because it means 1 more game in the new stadium

No, I said that playing in Shea was "not" football heaven, it was just nice being in NY considering they are the NY Jets. And as far as Woody saving money by going half price with the Giants, that's not surprising coming from him, up until this offseason he's been a cheap a**! I don't even care anymore about stadiums, like I said, it's a done deal, the Jets are in Jersey for 99 years, by the time this teams has it's own stadium the NFL will have teams on Mars. As long as they win a Superbowl they can play in Patterson for all I care.

The stadium opens in 2010 and the Jets don't play the Giants again until 2011. I wouldn't want what you are proposing anyway. I want my 8 home games period without the possibility of losing one to a lottery. I also want a Jet crowd for a Jet home game, not some mixed crowd. Lastly, who really cares who gets the first home game in the new stadium. When the Jets play their first home game in the stadium, it will be new for the 80,000+ Jet fans and that is all that matters. For those watching at home on TV, it won't make a difference either way.

Two of the biggest soccer teams in the world share a stadium--AC Milan and Inter Milan--and neither is suffering from a lack of prestige or credibility. It's what you do on the field.

    A little offtopic.

Any news about the new Training Facility? I read one article and the place sounds like heaven. Updates?
