I'm not making anyone out to be the savior. All I know is that in order to beat New England you have to rush the passer, so I would like to believe our front office knows that and is going in that direction.

He also led the NCAA in fumbles over a 3 year period he had 23.

I get what yall saying bout drafting a pass rusher but im sure we just spent tons of money on Pace why spend a whole lot more for anotha one at the 6 spot, when we need a game breaker on offense and a big fast WR. So im hoping for DMF...

Yes, and so you have adopted a Gholston or bust mindset, which is my point. I hope that's not what the Jets are doing.

Thats actually not what I'm saying.

What I am saying and what I think we should do is this. Long or Gholston, if they are both off the board we trade down. If they are some how both on the board I would have to say I prefere Long, but I just dont see him being there at 6.

Neither do I and Long is my #1 preference in this draft. Again I would not be upset with Gholston, I just haven't locked myself into thinking that we absolutely have to use this pick in any one direction. I'm just trying to be open-minded about the selection.

In any event, the decision will most likely be made for us by the time our pick is up, so this may all be moot. :breakdance:

if we dont leave this draft with gholston or even groves ill be pissed..

    1. RB is not a big need for us at all, we have solid rb's right now. and now that we fixed our OL well see big improvement from them. so i just pray dmc is taken b4 us.

    2. bryan thomas doesnt cut it..his best season he had 8-9 sacks..we need a consistant double digit sacker. and our 3-4 is not complete yet.

WE DONT NEED A RUNNING BACK!

Are you trying to compare Washington with McFadden? There is no comparison.

I've always thought to myself, T Jones L Washington very good....... then S Jackson-L Johnson-R Brown-M Turner as good backs.

I've wanted McFadden all along and still do but if we get Long instead I will be anything but unhappy. They say he doesn't project as well in a 3-4 as he does in a 4-3 but his non stop motor will become infectious to everybody around him. Even if he isn't as good a 3-4 player the fact that he will go all out on every play will shame the rest of them into doing the same thing. That in itself will make the whole defense better. Gholston is probably teh one person I don't want for just the opposite reason.

McFadden is a bigger, more dynamic back.

it all boils down to team need. if the teams picking don't need a running back, he slips, no matter how great he is.

What if the Patriots dart in front of us (with an assist from Herm) and take him at 5?

so now that the giants put a pass rush on the vaunted patriots everyone must have a huge pass rush to succeed?

of course a pass rush is important but jesus h christ do i have to hear about the fuckin giants and patriots every single time someone wants to make the point?

god what a horrible horrible way to back up the thought that the team needs a pass rush that is improved from last year.

I think are greatest need is another 3rd down back to pair with Washington. The Jets tend to get stuck in alot of 3rd and Long situations and putting McFadden back there to split 3rd downs with Leon would be a dangerous combination. I vote DMC.
