I saw this over at JI and thought I would give you guys the heads up. Reported on MSG NY tonight, Anthony Fusilli went to a boxing event at the Hammerstein Ballroom and spotted Jets coaches with Darren McFadden, showing him a good time in Manhattan. RUN-DMC! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU0nPKbYx6w 1- Dolphins- Jake Long 2- Rams- Glenn Dorsey 3- Falcons- Matt Ryan/Sedrick Ellis 4- Raiders- Chris Long 5- Chiefs- Sedrick Ellis/Trade 6- New York Jets- Darren McFadden!
I think there is no doubt they will take him if Oakland doesn't. All indications right now are Chris Long could fall to #4 in which case nobody believes Oakland will pass on him. There is also a new real possibility that both McFadden and Gholston will be there at 6 as Gholston is starting to fall. That will make it interesting but I still see the Jets taking McFadden. The only caveat is that a lot of people also think Atlanta is the most likely team to trade down from the top 5. That could change everything depending on who they trade with.
Whatever happens, I just hope we don't trade up from 6th overall. If they want to move up with their 2nd round pick, that's cool... but don't blow the load on any of these top 5 guys as none of them are a slam dunk.
I saw this last night as well. I was curious as to why McFadden ran away form the camera like he had committed a crime. I guess Mangini is already beating into his head that you don't talk to the media until you have taken the NYJ Class on Media Relations....
It's too bad Curtis is moving on to owning a new team, because he could've been a great mentor for DMC if he is in fact the pick.
This regime, moreso than past regimes really tries to utilize all NYC has to offer in terms of wowing future/potential personell.
i would be so pumped if we got McFadden with the 6th overall..most experts have him rated as the best overall player in the draft and i think the Jets would be great with Jones and DMC carrying the load, and with Leon running those trick plays with Smith and getting outside tosses
