Man, please don't get me wrong, I am a Jets and NFL diehard, but I am burning out with all this draft talk. I love the draft and watch every minute of it, but this year all the mocks have been wild, all the rumors are just that, and all the experts are contradicting themselves. Man, I don't know if its because this is such a critical time for the Jets. If we hit it big at #6 and our 2nd round pick, we are that much closer. I am so happy with the offseason and can't wait, but am burning out with this draft talk.

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I feel better now. McFadden or Gholston at #6 PLEASE!!!!

  2. This is always an antsy but great time of year. This is a BIG draft for this franchise and the anticipation can be alittle exhausting

Yeah I know what you mean about two months ago I was crazy about the draft and have kind of regressed in the last month or so ironically as it draws closer. I still read everything I can but who the fuck knows in the long run you know. I know everyone I could possibly know and now I just have to wait. I was going to go to the draft now I might do the whole draft party in the City somewhere. I know what you mean though but it is like 10 days away so you might as well get hyped now.

Ive been counting down the days for two weeks now Im so burned out. If anything Im getting more worried we will fuck it up. Im not used to the management doing such a good job my inner Jet voice is telling me they are going to fuck something up and its getting louder and louder. This off season has got me thinking wow is this what other team fans usually are like in the offseason (content, happy).

It definitely gets wild when you have an opportunity to make a "splash" pick. I think it is boredom more than anything, with nothing of interest being on this time of year.

It's not so much burning out on the draft, it's that almost every thread is about McFadden-Gholston. I understand that, they seem to be the best two players, or so we have been convinced by the media.

It's kind of like the Pennington Clements threads. There's only so much you can say.

I'll bet that the Jets aren't going to take either of them.

I guess we should be happy with what we have, a few weeks after the draft, after everyone is burned our arguing about who the Jets took, we won't have anything to argue about until camp

It's just information overload at this point. Everyone has their opinion and there are countless opinions, it gets overwhelming.

After the draft is over, it's always a huge let down, cause I have to wait an entire year.......like DEC 26th when you were a young kid. Come Sunday at the end of Rd 7, I'm exhausted.

  11. Yeah....the day after the draft is always VERY depressing...good analogy

I think this year has been a bit boring Pre Draft wise...

Much of what is being said has been the same since December and parrotted....

I liked Albert in December - and the top of the draft has been the same - Stuff I wrote about trading down with Dallas sounded good in January but, it's overblown by now....

It's time for THE REAL THING!!!!! So I agree - last year I don't think any of us predicted Revis / Harris..

It's the opposite for me. I've gotten so used to the team doing squat in FA that I heavily anticipate the draft to compensate for so many holes being neglected. With all of the action we've had so far this offseason, I haven't been nearly as interested in the draft because we are not going to depend so heavily on players drafted to fill our glaring needs.

I'm certainly sick of waiting, but that happens every offseason because I stopped devoting so much time to other sports. I'll definitely be happy once next weekend hits, though, at least up until we make our selections and my paranoia engine revs up again. And the waiting starts anew.

yea before it was like o we can see who falls and who rises at combines or prodays. But the 3 weeks or so before that draft is really dead. I mean all the players stocks are pretty much set and you know all about them all at every posititon.

Just hold on and watch baseball.

I think the best part of the draft comes next week. That's when all of the pre-draft trades will take place and this year they predict more than usual. It is also when the rumor level reaches fever pitch. Everybody claims to have their "sources" and the amount of smoke being put out is at an all time high.

By the time the draft actually starts it all seems rather anti-climatic.

The problem with this draft is that it's been the same few players for a long time, so we've been discussing everyone, but our pick isn't quite high enough where we have a choice between different guys. We pretty much know who we need, we have our opinions, and there aren't really any wild cards. In 2006, people wanted Brick, but others wanted Vernon Davis. Others wanted to trade down for Ngata. Others wanted Cutler. Later on, some people wanted Leinart when it appeared he'd fall. Then of course there was Reggie Bush and his whole scenario. Some people were hoping for Young, too. We also had another first round pick to use as ammo or to talk about other players. This year it's more boring since there's only a few players we'll take.

But there are so many different variations on variations...and a surprising number of good arguments, too.

The real problem I face is how do I get familiar enough with enough potential draft picks in time to pick up on the drama that plays out between these competing CSs.

Every time I start to remember a bunch of names, there's a smart remark about an entirely new guy I never heard of, and its back to the draft sites to compare their bites and smiles about him.

In the Draft game, so much of what the NYJ can do is tied in with what everybody else does that the opportunities are mind blowing to figure out from the outside.

    So, it's fun.

I honestly dont know what to think right now. The more I think about the Jets offseason moves, the more I think the Jets will go McFadden if he is there and Gholston is not. (w/o hesitation) Im beginning to think they dont even contemplate a trade back with Dallas. Im warming up to the idea of having McFadden here in NY with the new O-line and Richardson paving the way for him. It just makes sense. I'm still in favor of Gholston, but im willing to take McFadden now...

the draft cant get here soon enough.

This draft could be very interesting. I do think Parcells will sign somebody and it may not take until next Friday to do it. If he does then St Louis may have time to sign their pick too. Maybe even Atlanta. At least if they have all given up on trading down or maybe that in itself will cause some pre-draft trades to occur. We could know the top 1,2 or 3 picks even before the draft begins, given the other teams more time to make decisions on what they want to do.

Yes, just look at what's being posted now. How many times can you read that DMC can't run up the middle, that Ryan doesn't have a big time arm, that Gholston takes a lot of plays off, how C. Long doesn't really fit the 3-4 and how the guy from LSU is just a Dwayne Robertson clone. Im really tired of it - lets just do the draft and have it over with so we can go into the doldrums again until training camp.
