Pelfrey vs Perez Church batting 2nd tonight, Reyes leading off, Castillo batting 8th. Duaner makes his return, Muniz sent down.
Today is the 61st anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut with the Dodgers, and MLB is allowing any player to wear #42 who wants to. I wonder who will do it.
Lo Duca could get booed merely for suckitude. Nice to see that he has followed up his .689 OPS last year with the Mets with a .603 so far this year for the Nats. Why exactly is he pissed off at the Mets for letting his sorry ass go?
A lot of Butch Huskeys out there tonight. L-Millz got booed, doubled, and was thrown out trying to steal third. An exciting start. Lo Duca is not playing.
The Mets will win. I ate turkey sandwich and am already beginning to digest it. (Sorry I couldn't help over weekend...10 am PST start times mean no turkey sandwich) All "kidding" aside, I really hope the lack of pressure and expectations on Pelfry this year are going to help him blossom. Winning these types of home games against division rivals are a great recipe for a player's confidence. Lo Duca loved being a Met as much as anyone who's ever put on the uniform. He doesn't deserve to get booed. It's not his fault the Mets didn't make him an offer. (It's probably the parents of the 16 y.o. who deserve to be booed for allowing their daughter to be a groupie rag doll so approvingly)
What was the point of Church bunting in that inning? This offense isn't good enough to give outs away, especially when it is one of their better hitters (so far this season) giving the out away.
