I ask this question out of pure honesty, was Dyson the one getting burned by Ward in the SuperBowl? I have seen Dyson play a few times, and I especially liked what I saw that one game vs. Philly when he ran the int/fumbe recovery for td's. However, don't be quick assume that our secondary problems are solved. Even though Dyson was cut for salary cap reasons (most likely to make room for Alexander's astronomically high salary), still teams aren't likely to cut a young player who has produced for them. I heard that Seattle was still trying to re-sign him, but still they wanted him to take a pay cut.
They signed Dyson to one of those "it looks like 5 yrs on paper, but it's really 1 yr" contracts. Basically, it was signed to trigger a renegotiation this year, but Dyson was not happy with the terms.
I just checked - Dyson did not turn up on the stats from the SuperBowl. So either he did not have 1 tackle all game or he did not play. And Kurt I have to thank you for me learning about this site. I had about 3 people who know I'm a big Jets fan ask me if I was you. So I checked the site out and joined.
On the Randle El to Ward, that was Marcus Trufant...In the 1st quarter when Pittsburgh had like 3rd and 25, Ward snatched the ball away from Boulware... And on Willie Parker's 77 yarder, Etric Pruitt, who came in for Marquand Manuel, took a horrible angle and got toasted...
wow! when did the Super Bowl MVP turn into a ketchup bottle?? man that puts the diet pepsi machine to shame. Hines Ward ha ha j/k with ya
lol Funny how all the guys try to defend Dyson now that he's a Jet. Homers. He was a backup in Seattle and he was hurt all the time. We'll see if he can beat out David Barrett or Justin Miller.
Dyson definitely had an off year in Seattle.... but Seattle did try to keep him, albeit at a much lower price. If he returns to the form he showed at Tennessee (who also tried to get him back) he'll be a steal.
