I still say it is the O-LINE
which can be addressed in the draft

QB and a Pass rushing OLB are pretty big needs right now.

I agree OL can be easily addressed via the draft.

I think we can all agree on that...Their isn't much depth if someone goes down.

we need help with our wr corp and dt positions. seems like the jets had only scored maybe 20 td's in 16 games last year.

O-line, but I still like V. Young with the 4th pick if he is there.

You wouldn't hear me complain. IMO, it would be very similiar to Andy Reid drafting Donovan McNabb...I don't think anyone was expecting that.

That is not a bad point. I can see the new FO wanting to throw off the rest of the league. Pehaps we pull Vince Young out of left field.....but I would still prefer super mario.

I agree. During the Herm era, we completely ignored it. We mostly draft defense, so under our new leadership-I hold hope that this will change...

  16. I dont think we can look at our situation in terms of "need positions". Yes we need alot of help on the OL, and some young talent at the skill positions.

But what we really need is more "Elite" players. You look at our roster we don't really have an consistent elitists.

    1. Vilma- On his way but not there yet
    2. Ellis- Only when he wants to be
    3. D rob- only when he's healthy and has help at NT
    4. Martin- about 3 years ago
    5. Rhodes- Maybe in 2 years
    6. Miller- Maybe in 2 years
    7. Coles- 2 years ago before toe problems

See my point? We need players we can count on, on Sundays to win their individual battles no matter who they are up against. Right now we dont have many of those players, if any at all.

To me,. that is our biggest need going into the draft.

We first need an o-line to build this offense around. All other needs are just secondary to the offensive line, games are won up front.

I agree the OL is the biggets need. Run the ball and play Defense.

The Jets' #1 need is O-line, but that doesn't necessarily mean we have to use our first pick on the O-line. This draft is so thick with O-line that we can still address that #1 need after taking a QB with our #1 pick. Make sense?
