Notice we haven't heard a thing for weeks now regarding that? Guaranteed, knowing nothing about the situation, that after Law spoke with New England and the Jets and act like something was close, he asked for like 10 times more then either team wanted to pay and now everything quieted down. Guaranteed.

put a fork in ty law, he's done. feet are too slow and he just doesn't have the athleticism to keep up with receiver's anymore. he was just terrible with kc the past few seasons.

He's old and asking for way to much... let him play safety and pay him a bit above the vet mininum.

He is and always was a Rent-A-Whore.

Age and weight always catches up with someone in that profession.

I don't want him. We don't need him or any other CB. We didn't need one last year either. With all of that Law is still probably better than 3/4 of the CBs in the league. That's why both NE and the Jets were talking to him. Not because he is done, too slow or whatever other ridiculous comments people make here.

Still think he can help our team, I mean the justification for overpaying Faneca (guy who clearly has hit his prime and in a year or two will start to decline, will be great for us for 2-3 seasons but after that he will need to be replaced just due to his body giving out) for many on this board was that Faneca will mentor our young Olineman in Mangold and Brick. Now same can be said for Law he could mentor Revis, Rhodes to an extent, Drew Coleman and whatever other young CB we bring in here in the draft...

Now that said screw paying Law more than like 7 million over 2 years... with like 4 garunteed. and maybe 1 of it in a signing bonus... that is probably over paying, but still he has gas and can play some FS in the twilight of his career...

He already proved himself and won rings....nothing else to do but get money, I can't blame him for that, especially @ his age.

TY Law has ALWAYS been about money.

I don't know what he has left....I guess that will be determined by the team that signs him...but I am sure he is asking double digits, and may not get it, unless it's in incentives.

It's not the atleticism to keep up with receivers. You don;t lose athleticism, you jsut lose the skills behind it.

I still have flashbacks of Ty Law sprawled out on his belly in front of my seats after trying one of his slightly-less-than perfectly timed picks, sliding across our 30 YL with hands outstretched like a kid having fun at the water park, while the opposing receiver pranced into the end zone untouched, laughing his ass off.

He's a gambler. He either lights up the stadium or makes himself look like a complete buffoon. Six years ago his percentages of success with that sort of thing were excellent but today it's a different story.

Hey... if he wants to come here for a modest contract to add depth and help mentor, I don't have a problem with that. But I'll be damned if we should be pissing away any more serious money on has-beens that still think they command pro-bowl contracts.

Law was actually pretty solid in KC, and he cut down on the penalties. He's still got a few years left in the tank. I don't want to see him in a Jets' uniform if he's asking for a huge contract, but if he comes in cheap, and he's willing to work hard...he'd be a great pick up, not only as a stop-gap number two corner, but also as a team leader and a mentor to the younger defensive backs on this team.

I actually disagree. You natural athetic ability begins to decrease. If anything your skills are best when you retire because of your experience you just no longer have the atheticism to execute them at a competitive level.

    i respectfully disagree jtuds.

cornerback, like runningback, is a young man's position. once you lose a step, or even a half-step, you become a liability in coverage.

in fact, i can't think of a top corner who's over 30 (bailey's almost there, though he's nearing the end of his prime). cromartie, samuel, asomougha, revis, trufant, mathis, mccalister - all young guys.

What about trying to nab (good word) someone that isn't a moronic headcase?

Let's try to be realistic here doggy.

Errbody knows, or should know that the Cowboys have a deal worked out and when Jones' is reinstated, he's moving from Tennessee to the Big D.
