I'm not sure I'd mind it. I like Long and Gholston better, especially Long for our system...but Harvey isn't a bad consolation prize. Sucks that both Balmer and Moore are gone in this mock, but this wouldn't surprise me. Moore is not being talked about enough for a 300+ pound man with 4.88 speed and immense strength.
honestly think if both longs, run dmc and gholston (my number 1) are gone, we should go after mckelvin or rivers to go with harris. not sold on harvey. cromartie has higher upside but we can't go with a project at this point
Harvey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rivers or McKlevin or RDC
Rashard Mendenhall to New Orleans?? I guess Harvey would be OK, but is he a fit in the 3-4? I doubt Matt Ryan falls to #14... Dan Connor to #15 at Detroit? It's a need, but a big reach. I think Rivers goes much higher than #30... The rest is OK....
Well, McAllister cannot be counted on anymore. In the last three seasons, he's only been healthy for one of them. Aaron Stecker is old. Pierre Thomas is a nice backup. To be effective, Reggie Bush needs to be teamed with a bigger back. I don't think it would be crazy for the Saints to draft a RB on day one.
He isnt going to be a project. He outplayed everyone at the senior bowl and out-performed them at the combine
RDC had a great combine but he came from a small school and played more man coverage in their scheme. he has great bloodlines and supreme talent but he'll most likely have a tough time learning the schemes of the pros. he'll have the same problems that Merriweather had for the cheating pats. he'll be good to great in a couple of years but not this year. we need a player this year to compete better
you must have read the same article i did this morning (the merriweather comparison). however, i was at the senior bowl and watched him dominate.
if Gholston, Mcfadden, or Long are not there at #6 when we select....just pray to the football gods that Tannenbaum can swing a trade out of that spot and move down in the first round. I like guys like DRC and McKelvin...but i don't think they're worth what the 6th overall selection is gonna receive contract-wise.
Fine, but they have big weaknesses at CB, OLB, and DT. RB is one of their smallest needs, Bush is only in his second year. McCallister is still solid even though he's an injury risk. If you want to take a bigger back later, that's fine, but not at #10 no matter how good Mendenhall is.
count me in this group. if gholston, long, or rundmc isn't there, and if we decide not to take a mckelvin or a DRC (i don't believe they should be picked at these spots but they'll be picked nonetheless), i'd rather trade down, amass some picks, with some of the end result being us picking up groves
I agree with picks 1 and 2. I don't see the Falcons taking Jake Long over a DT since they're fairly limited in their interior line.. After the top two it gets so murky that I can't even begin to fathom why teams would pick those players. Harvey is a massive reach at 6, especially to pass on McKelvin, Jenkins, Talib AND Rogers-Cromartie. I really do expect more out of draftdaddy.com
