big surprise Jets want more than the Broncos are willing to offer. I fully expect that Robertson will be moved for whatever we can get by draft day, now it's still a month before the draft so the Jets can hold out for a better deal at this point, until it gets closer to draft day i won't be worrying that he won't be moving until then.

They're all worried about the knees. I read the other day that a team physician on one of the teams said he thought DRob has "no more than two years left in the NFL."

We're trying to peddle damaged goods.

I'd like to wring Bradways neck.

We're up the creek without a paddle and everyone knows it. When the Bungles failed to negotiate a contract with d-rob we were left hung out to dry.

The timing of that in relation to all of our FA signings left us in a position where we pretty much have to get rid of his contract. If a team really wants him they can just wait for us to cut him now and everyone knows that.

We're going to have to cut him. C'est la vie.

I gotta be honest, D-Rob is overpaid. But I must say, I am very impressed that he had this really brutal knee problem and he hasn't missed a game for us in years. He's not the slouch he's been made out to be.

Just think about Barry Bonds limping, grimacing, twisting his way to first base on a walk. "Owwwie, my knee, my poor knee! Waahhh!"

Kudos to you, D-Rob. You are a tough football player. Now take a pay cut or hit the bricks, amigo.

Me too, like when we selected Bryan Thomas instead of Ed Reed. Wonderful job Terry, No wonder he lives 5 minutes fromm A.C. He's probably just as big a LOSER there too!

It's been speculated for a while that Bradway actually knew there was a slight bone-on-bone condition with DRob prior to the draft and traded our two #1 picks anyway to move up for him. He had been fleeced so badly by the Redskins that he felt the need to "make a splash" and put the Jets "back on the map."

If I ever ran into him in A/C I'm gonna make believe I'm a valet parker and take his car and run it into the Atlantic Ocean.

.Of course there stalled. D-rob is not a player with an upside (In any defense). His contract is massive and there’s no way Denver will pick up his contract as is! D-Rob’s agent is probably not on the same page with Denver in terms of a re-negotiated deal and their idea of what d-rob is worth is probably skewed

That won't be hard to do. You could be wearing jeans and a t-shirt and he would still let you get in the car. Make sure you tell him when you drive off "this car didn't even cost me 2 first rouind picks, let alone 1"

The best move is no move.

Keeping D Rob and moving him to end will turn out to be a blessing that no one expected.

He will be very productive next to Jenkins.

As for the future, the Jets can start looking for their next end now.

I don't think that's possible without restructuring his contract. If we can, then I agree.

As Robertson's value has diminshed his agent might be enticed to renegotiate his present deal and keep him with Gang Green. Robertson's agent must know he won't have teams throwing money at him, it might be in his best interest to take an incentive laden contract and stay a Jet

The only problem with keeping him, even at a lower price, is that we have to do it before June 1st when he is due that 3 million dollar roster bonus. Otherwise we will have little cap room.

These picks (especially where DRob was taken) are truly consensus picks by the whole FO and CS.

You can say what you want about the doctors' opinions regarding what they see on the MRI's and CAT-scans.

But that has nothing to do with how the player reacts.

I daresay that other teams will be missing out on DRob's real values in the trenches if they take to heart those "dispassionate verdicts" from their medical practitioners instead of realizing the heart and soul of the player.

DRob's knees have never stopped him. He will play well, as long as he chooses to.

Perhaps in the long run DRob will be better off staying with the NYJ, renegotiating his contract to make it more cap friendly, and working with a DS that knows all his strengths and weaknesses to take advantage everywhere they can.

The Jets aren't going to get a better deal. Teams know that the Jets are desperate to get rid of this guy, and that financially, their only recourse is to cut him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was dealt for a five or a six on draft day, that is, if this doesn't get done.

If he would redo his contract I would not mind a move to end. He lacks the build for a 3-4 end, but has a good first step and explosiveness to hopefully make up for his height.

That all said, I feel the Jets will let him go if they are unable to move him.

Ding muthafuckin ding. He doesn't even have to shoot the gap, if he engages the tackle instead of the typical anchor and swim that you expect out of a 3-4 End, he can be a monster. And engaging doesn't mean that he has to straight out rush or push the fucker straight back. DRob is quick, and all he needs to do is keep his legs square and give the tackle a jolt right at the numbers. The only problem with DRob is that he always gets cleaned out by trap blocks. I mean always. As in how the offensive coaches draw it up. That killed him at nose. I can't imagine that offensive coordinators will have guards and centers going out to where the end is, head-up on the tackle, for a trap. They usually go inside. Which means that the only way this happens is a TE coming in from his side. Now, a TE is not what it used to be (A tackle with hands) so I fully expect that even with DRob's weakness to this technique, it will be a non-issue as compared with before where it was a major issue. A 250lb tight end, even a good one, should not be able to remove DRob from a play. I just can't see it happening.

Yeah, he would be a huge cap hit and should the coaching staff implement the change full time, we would need to resign him on top of that. We could probably come to an agreement with the man that he retains his outrageous 2008 number, including bonus, but the next few years of his contract will be smaller, until the last year when he again becomes a big cap hit. By then we will know whether this knee condition does him in or not, we will be able to afford DRob for the time that he can play in this league should it be as severe as some say, and while we won't be saving cap money for this season, we will be keeping an excellent player and locking him up for a few years on the cheap. If the knee condition isn't what everyone is making it out to be, then we get, as I said, an excellent player on the cheap for several years. By the time he gets his pay day again, he will have earned it.

More like...the Jets are trying to get anything for him because of his fucked up knee.

The trade falling through has nothing to do with the Jets and everything to do with Drob.
