He is franchised so it would cost us 2 1st's I believe. Besides, he is an exclusive franchise tag so he can not negotiate with other teams. If the Raiders wanted to move him they would not have put the exclusive on him.
Obviously the compensation is a first or two firsts like people are saying. If it was only a 2nd he'd be scooped up by someone else for sure.
If i'm not mistaken they not only franchised him they EXCLUSIVE franchised him, which actually makes it impossible to trade for him, even though i dont think we or any team would give up 2 first rounders. Except for maybe the cowboys 2 late firsts and get a pos of need with a legit shut down. Anyway its a moot point ill post a link. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d806c6ef5&template=with-video&confirm=true
It's true you can't negotiate with an exclusive FA. However there is nothing to stop the Raiders from removing the exclusive tag and offering him for trade. I don't think that will happen. He counts nearly 10 million against the cap. Qpkland will have alot of money tied up with corners
They have no intention of trading him. Al Davis loves CBs and they are going after Hall to complement him not replace him.
Fabian Washington is probably the Raiders fourth or Fifth CB right NOw. F Washington had a better rookie year ,than your own D Revis. For some reason F Washington play was horrible last year(don't know if he was injured) Raiders depth chart at CB probably reads like this 1. N Asomugha 2. Deangelo Hall 3. Stanford Routt 6'1 195- in time could be Raiders best CB(just as fast as washington- only bigger and way more physical of tackler) 4 Michael Huff- is one of the best cover safeties in football who could play CB. 5. F Washington- struggled in 2007. 6 J Bowie- A development type who has great size and can fly. Trading F washington off of last year performance wouldn't be smart. its best to hold on to him now(never have enough cover Cbs) and see if he can rebound in 2008. IF F Washington rebounds than you have a chance to get a way higher draft choice.
Raiders aren't trading Asomugha. ONe Asomugha a very big CB 6'2 210(with freakish ,longarms) He matches up alot better to the super elite big WRs , that can give hall some trouble. It sorta defeats the purpose of acquiring D Hall. Raiders want to have the best starting Cb tandem. you have that ability and you can do alot more things on defense.
Washington had 43 tackles, ZERO int's, Zero FF's his rookie year. Revis had 87 tackles, 3 int's and 1 ff his rookie year. Please explain to me how that translates to a better rookie season. Even his second season was not arguably better than Revis' rookie year.
This is crazy talk. Asoumugha is one of the top three cornerbacks in the NFL. The Raiders might, MIGHT consider a straight-up trade for our 6th overall pick. Why we would consider that is beyond me. Why not just start a thread with "We should look at Julius Peppers" or "We should look at Shawn Merriman." Just as likely a trade. And if he's a better corner than Hall, (I agree) Atlanta got the 35th pick for Hall, and the Jets pick three spots later, correct? Why would the Raiduh's trade a better player for less compensation?
Fabian Washington is a joke. Another speedster that gave Al Davis one of his final erections. Nnamdi might get unfranchised if they make the trade for D'Angelo Hall, otherwise forget about it.
Yes I will gladly tell you. In raider system the Cb play man to man 98% of the time. Reason why he dosen't have the stats is teams were picking on him like they were Revis early. Case in point. Check out asomugha stats last year. Hes so good teams don't throw at him. So hes not going to put up hugh tackle numbers. Just was talking aboutr rookie year as Washington clearly didn't play as well as he did his rookie year.
Thats why the Pastriots and browns have been asking the Raiders about Fabian washington. Asomugha not going anywhere as AL Davis has his two shutdown Cbs.
