David Harris was a steal and if anybody knew how good he was he would have been a first round pick. Sometime you just luck out...aka Brady, Marino, Tomlinson..etc..etc.

Not at all. The point, if you had read it, was who would be an impact player the quickest. However, if we don't at least make a playoff run then the money spent will all have been for nothing and you can start prasing the next coaching staff and front office a year from now.

Why are you attacking this KID like he is a 6 year veteran?

I'm about to pull a "Come after me! I'm a man! I'm 40!" on you.

The enitre team was near the bottom of the league in all categories as well... Sacks allowed and Sacks Recorded especially... Ain't just the kid.

I think the Jets will be stuck with the 6 pick, although I would rather see a trade down if possible. Here is my trade scenario. Jets trade their 1st rounder (6) and Robertson to Denver for their 1st rounder (12) and their 2nd rounder (42). If you go by points value of the draft picks the Jets would owe an early to mid 4th round pick, so Robertson is basically getting traded for a 4th round value. Of course this would have to be done before the draft to get a contract worked out.

I dont understand what drives all this speculation about us drafting wide receivers and running backs in round 1 or 2. Tangini is all about defense and the entire country just saw the Giants and their dominant pass rushing defense upset the unbeatable Patriots. In addition, we have multiple playmakers on defense and we're only a few more players away from becoming an elite unit. Theres no chance we draft McFadden and no chance were going anywhere near a receiver in the first 2 rounds. Our offensive skill positions are adequately filled. This draft will target our real needs like: CB, S, LB, DE and OL.

McKelvin at #6 is the absolutely best pick for this team. We'll have a pair of shutdown corners which will enable us to blitz frequently and hit quarterbacks. Our dominant secondary will intercept many passes and will take advantage of every poorly thrown pass that our aggressive blitz packages will force. In addition, McKelvin is the top return man in the country. With him on punts and Miller/Washington on kick returns, we are unstoppable on special teams. Entering the 2008 season, we will have a dominant defense and dominant special teams. We will dominate the field position game and win the division (and worst case simply make the playoffs).

In addition, NE is said to be extremely interested in McKelvin. Is there any other reason needed to take this guy at 6? Let them draft Gholston. Let them draft the combine freak (translate bust) whose never played standing up in the 3-4.

I'm not ready to give up on KC just yet. NYJ should try to trade for Anquan Boldin. Maybe swap picks with the Cardinals and they can move disgruntled Coles to the desert. I love LC but he needs to stop crying. Waaaaaa, I want to restructure my contract again, Waaaaaaaa.

He played the "Leo" at OSU, which is a hand down at times, stand up at times position-- he's poised to play both positions.. he's a hybrid, and so is our defense.

Good point, I should have checked that out first- I just feel strongly about McKelvin over Gholston. I feel like a potentially great cornerback has just as much potential to become a high impact difference maker as a DE/OLB hybrid type. In addition, cornerback is a huge need area for us as opposed to OLB. In addition, I believe NE is sitting there at 7 waiting for McKelvin to fall to them.

Well CB is their primary need. So its either McKelvin or DRC. But I think that if we re-sign Poteat or pickup Law then we will go with Gholston.. anything is a possibility.

The Top 5 draft slots never go 5/5 in any prediction. There is always one big surprise pick.. lets see how this plays out.

    1) Our offseason basically setup the FO with the ability to take the BPA when their pick comes up, regardless of position.
    2) Our offense was worse than our defense last season.
    3) In all fairness, Gholston was projected by most to be picked by us at #6 well before the combine.
    4) An outstanding pass rush can make an average secondary look great. OLB's are where a lot of the pressure comes from in the 3-4 (obviously).
