Things look positive for Law

I am still pretty undecided on whether or not I'd want him. I guess if it doesn't cost too much it would be good but I can't see Ty Law settling for less than what he thinks he's worth.

 

We can do ALOT worse than Ty law as a # 2 cb for the time being. He's still a very smart, physical corner who's had success in the system we are currently running.

I doubt he has a high price tag and he'll be a nice finishing touch to what's turning out to be a pretty nasty secondary.

As for McKelvin and Cromartie, I like them as prospects, but not as top 10 picks...additionally neither is the prospect Revis was...who barely went top 15.

 

I wouldn't mind bringing him in as long as it comes cheap. And if he becomes a problem just get rid of him, we can't afford a cancer in the locker room this season

 

Law would be a solid signing. As a #2 corner he'd be excellent. His strong relationship with Revis should help Revis, not hinder him. Make this signing. This will also allow us to trade Robertson for picks instead of for a corner.

 

I have mixed feelings on this. My biggest fear is that he undermines the coaching staff and upsets the chemistry on a team with a bunch of new players and some disgruntled vets.

 

If Mangini allows players to undermine him then we're not going to the Super Bowl anyway and everything the Jets have done this offseason won't mean anything.

Law is a playmaker, and despite his reputation he is an asset to a team, not a hindrance.

 

Yes, but it takes very little to sew the seeds of unrest.

 

Not a chance . Look at David Barretts contract , who basically showed nothing to warrant it!

Yup that's what I've read. I'm disappointed because I love him as a player but I just can't stand his attitude. He needs to just shut up and play

 

I'm fine with signing Law as an upgrade on the field, which he certainly is. But can we put this good mentor talk to rest? When a player is kept away from the young kids in the secondary because he was a bad influence the first time around it is a pretty sure bet he isn't the mentoring type.

 

Ty Law and Eric know each other very well..I'm sure he knows the deal with Mangini..if the price is right..why not

 

Ty Law is old and decaying- Lets draft a starting cornerback in round 1 or 2 and let NE overpay for this locker room cancer.

 

Lets boost up the price for the Pats....I really don't want him here.

 

I think his days as a playmaker are long gone. He was not all that good on KC last year, he is going downhill quickly IMO. All he would be good for is depth, but we have plenty of depth guys, what we need is another starter.

I am just not thrilled with him coming here again.

 

The real question is whether or not he is better or worse that what we have opposite Revis now? That and how much will it cost?

 

He's better than everyone on the roster except revis at this point. If you can get him for 1 year that would be fine.

 

See Derell Revis (contract hold out). To draft another Corner back would cost major ducketts , with the potential of a Revis like hold out. Tough spot!

 

I don't particularly like Ty Law. His first trip here wasn't all that wonderful, and relationship with Mangini or not, I'm very concerned with his effect on our rather young secondary. I remember the coaching staff was so concerned with his attitude the first time around that they had to keep him away from Justin Miller. I think we should consider trading back and drafting someone. I don't think Law represents any kind of upgrade.
