I dunno I don't see why Law wouldnt come here if we gave him a 2.5-3 million dollar a year deal for the next 2-3 years.
i wouldnt want him for more than 1 year. He's definetily still got ability but decline in speed can happen so quickly. I also think if we do sign him we have some flexibility in letting him play some centerfield esque free safety since he's such a ball hawk, which would free up kerry rhodes to play up at the line at times as the 5th LB of sorts in the 3-4 line up and make some plays at the line of scrimmage. Ty could also be a great mentor to our young corners like Revis and Miller(especially Miller who just seems to need some guidance)
I can't see why nobody would want him to start at Free Safety opposite Rhodes. He's not as fast as he used to be, but he's still football smart enough to make the position an upgrade.
I do not like what he would bring to the locker room, and I am not so sure he wouldn't test Mangini, I am all for not having choirboys but this guy seems to be a bad influence, I would much prefer a guy who is involved in gang violence outside of the team headquarters than a cancer within
I don't understand why so many people are confident with our pass D. Revis, Rhodes, then who? We need Ty Law. He's an immediate upgrade over what we have... I don't even like Ty Law.
Especially considering people didn't really have to throw on us all that much last season because they could run at will.
i'd take him, i dont know about this whole multi year deal thing, but i'd take him for next season for sure. i'd also look to resign poteat. that'd give us revis, law, poteat, miller, barett, and maybe drew coleman. that's not too bad hopefully miller would push law for the #2 spot and be starting by the end of the season.
Agreed. At safety I'd consider taking a chance on Law. As a corner? I'd pass, I think he's lost too much speed to be an asset at that position.
