According to Adam Schefter, RB Cedric Houston has been released from the Jets. I thought he was released back in training camp when he retired to finish his education...?

I was a Cedric Houston fan... even have his #34 autograph on my infamous "Autograph Ball" from TC two years ago.

He had potential. Can't quite understand what the hell transpired there, but I still wish him well.

I think he lost his passion for football and didn't like the fact that he couldnt compete for a starting job. Best of luck to him.

i hated the guy in college (as i am a UF alum and die hard fan) but i really like him once he played for the jets. i think that he just had all sorts of serious health issues and he just decided it was in his best interest to walk away. nevertheless, good luck to him

Yea Houston was better than Barlow or Blaylock (Bradways replacement for Lamont Jordan)

Cedric "retiring" hurt this team in toughness around the goal and short yardage.

I have a feeling there isn't a lot of tears being shed over this guy.

With Richardson, Faneca, and the rest of our revamped O-line....the HB's should be able to tiptoe into the endzone this year...unscathed.

Of course I'm exaggerating....but you get the picture.....the run game should be pretty effective this year....short yardage situations included.

He left the team last offseason, and I was shedding tears every time Thomas Jones got stopped for no gain in short yardage situations. We missed him, trust me.

do you really think having Cedric Houston on our roster would've made the "difference" in the Jets' fortunes last year?

relax suzy.....no need to get all hostile.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass....the point i was trying to make was that I believe Cedric didn't play a major role in the team's success...and wouldn't be missed. I just wanted to know if you felt that he would've made a significant impact if he did play last season.
