Says the agent for free agent WR Justin McCareins, "We are definitely in no hurry to do anything. I wouldn't mind waiting a month."

Right he is no hurry because nobody is calling his sorry ass.

Translation: "Jesus Christ, if some wide receiver doesn't go down with a torn ACL in the next month, I'll be in the Arena Football League!"

    Maybe as a #3 or #4 WR.

    Funny news from Rotoworld:

The Titans allowed free agent Justin McCareins to leave without a contract.
Not a good sign. Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and Jeff Fisher coached McCareins during his best years in the league and the Titans aren't rich in receiver talent. What McCareins put on film in 2007 may have turned them off.

    Exactly

He was brought in here to be a #!. His play was far from it.

I know I'm going to get killed for this, but I wouldn't be stunned if he resigned with the Jets for around Vets Min.

The guy could get upfield, he just couldn't catch the ball when he got there

I'd use an undrafted FA or someone off of another team's practice squad before I put him back on the field. I'll take the unknown over the known bad any day.

The man cost us potential season-turning games against Baltimore and New England-- he's not coming back, i will throw things at him if he's on the bench next year. I will put Justin McCareins on IR to protect the welfare of the New York Jets.

I don't understand why fans need to bash players on their way out. He's gone, move on. He had some bad moments here but he was also a key factor for us when we were a kick away from the AFC Title Game. It's irritating how every time we sign or draft a player they are great and we love them then once a guy is gone they suck and we just bash them.

Actually it's TGG. The other rule of thumb is, any guy cut by another team will save us and must be had.

I understand that but what good does it do us to continue to bash him after he's gone? It just makes fans look bad. I guess I'm different, I'm a loyal person and unless someone gives me a reason to dislike them(like when Coles and Chad Morton bashed the Jets when they left) I still want to see them do well as long as it's not against the Jets.

Wait a sec junc. Now I agree with you for the most part, but this is Justin McCareins. The same guy who took us for fools thinking we were getting a guy about to break out. He couldn't even play like a #3 receiver the entire time he was here.

Sorry, but he deserves every single verbal barb he gets. Hell, he's lucky he walked out of the Meadowlands alive this past year.

Well, for one thing, it's the offseason.

Also consider that our most recent memories of McDroppins have tarnished any of the good things he did earlier in his stint with the team. Fans do indeed take crappy play personally.

Finally, about looking bad- we're Jets fans, and regardless of how well things are going we'll still find a way to complain. Take this year's free agent spending-spree. I can't recall ever seeing this team lay out so much money to FA's- most folks were happy but some chimed in, unhappy that we had spent so much money to land such talent- dammed if you do, dammed if you don't.

He sucks and the rest of the NFL knows he sucks. I fail to see how we as fans look bad by recognizing and stating that.

The freakin Titans didn't even offer him a contract.
