The ability to hit a hole hard and fast reading your blocks and moving cleanly through the hole gaining 4 to 5 yards is the most important factor for a quality RB, very few if any RBs in the league have enough speed to get outside on thier own. Defenses are way to fast, the NFL is not College DE are as fast as RBs, Corners are the fastest players on any team and OLB are total beasts......... to have a great rb they have to beat one guy usually over the tackles and break free for any big gains So even with all of McFaddens speed he will still have to make the move from inside out and TJ or Washington will be able to get most of the same yards with this line
The transition from college to the NFL as a running back should be the easiest for a talented running back. McFadden has way more talent than Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. Watch some of his tape -- he breaks a lot of huge runs going up the middle. He's got great footwork. This time change is killing me...but I'll be ready to "debate" about this tomorrow.
thats my point you hit it on the head footwork and up the middle, In an interview Reggie bush said his biggest issue was adjusting to the speed of the nfl and how he couldnt outrun the defense to the outside like he had in college and high school
