I get everything that you are saying but look what they did in Free Agency...They gave Pace a lot of cash to rush the passer....Traded for Jenkins to clog up middle and free up Harris to blitz up the middle (Harris could end up with 10 sacks next year) and they are still paying Bryan Thomas a boatload to get to the QB. Not to mention what they have tied up in D-Rob, Ellis and Coleman. I would love Gholston but based on his combind I would be shocked if he were still there at 6. Even before the combind he was slated to go no later than 6 or 7....now i think he goes top 5.

If for some reason both Gholston and McFadden are sitting there at 6 the FO is going to have one tough decision to make. I would still go with McFadden as I think he is the type of player the Jets have lacked pretty much forever.

But the Giants had a game breaker in burress, we don't have any. That's the point we're getting at. No one on this offense scares defenses.

i really want gholston. the guy is just such a physical specimen. i hate the thought of the patriots getting him. i just have a funny feeling. if we add him, we would have some defensive team

I hear ya, who ever the Jets pass on will become an all-pro with the Pats.

That's usually how it works out.

No, I think that both Longs and Ghoston will be gone and the Jets unable to trade down select Rodgers Cromartie.

The Jets only had 29 sacks last year. Believe it was second lowest in the NFL. They need more then Pace

Rewatch the Super Bowl. A pass rush is the way to make Brady look very ordinary

    NO. We're fine at RB.

McFadden being available makes it interesting, but if he's gone RB shouldn't even be a consideration at 6.

They have more than Pace. They finally have a NT who can consistently take on double teams and free up the LB's and allow the Jets to blitz more effectively. They have Harris starting from the first snap of the season.

Having a pass rush is great but you still need to score points and the Jets were 26th in total offense last year.

A lot of that had to do with out flimsy o line. Jones/Washington is fine by me, especially now that we have Richardson leading the way.

I would continue adding defensive depth, you can never have enough.

Jenkins has never played NT. Though it seems like a good fit given his size, its a toss up. Gholston seems like a beast but once again who knows if he can be effictive as a stand up OLB. I like DMC, but has anyone seen Stewart play? Hes 235, 4.4s high 40, and his balance is insane.

A stronger OL will definitely help but now you need to add play makers. Jones is solid and Washington is a nice 3rd down change of pace back. Neither is the play maker that McFadden can be.

I agree that you can never have enough defensive depth. If we took Gholston or even if we had to take McKelvin or Rodgers-Cromartie, because Gholston and McFadden were gone, I would be very happy. It's just that personally I think finding offensive play makers to be the top priority after addressing other needs through FA.

I love Mendenhall but after watching what we did some may think that this gives us the oppurtunity to draft a playmaker but i just think that we are trying to give Jones and Washington a better chance to make plays.I think we are gonna pick a corner hopefully its Cromartie.

and the jets put themselves in a position to go bpa with the free agent moves they made, whether that be mcfadden or gholston or a trade down i have no idea but i think they have set a plan in place and will stick to it as they dont HAVE to spend that pick on anything in particular like they have in years past.

definitely put themselves in a pretty good position to do just about anything they want with that pick.
