i dont think were rebuilding in an artificial way at all.. we went out and got guys who specifically meet our needs and either 1) are proven dominant players when healthy in faneca and jenkins or 2) 1st round talent that hasnt quite met their potential in pace and woody. i mean we have a longg time to debate the impact that these players are gonna have but i am buying (no pun haha) into what they are doing and am really excited for whatever the hell is going to happen in the draft.
and you sir, are what I call, somebody who thinks they know how to run a team but yet, knows nothing.
Well, you know, we are talking about a team of real people here, not a bunch of two-dimensional avatars that you can change the color of at will and call it personality. If we throw away all the work that the CS has done with these two QBs, and we just start over with some veteran newbies and some drafted newbies, I think the cost-benefits analysis that was was so carefully cleverly crafted over the past few weeks will have been betrayed. And the folks who write the checks will see their next three years drowned in the red ink of skill player learning curve. Look at the real reason that Favre quit today. It was the complexity of defenses, and the constant, overwhelming preparation demanded by even the guy who knows his playbook backwards and forwards. Favre quit because he didn't want to make the mental commitment. So you guys who are swimming neck deep in your impatience and anger and frustration want to decapitate your QB scapegoats and grabs some new "messiahs" out of trade bait and just fresh from college. Just remember this: The guys who are going to change the NYJ from losers to winners prefer to bust heads and break spirits more than they like to dance the pas de deux. You guys are into tiddlywinks, but this is chess, man, with a clock.
Com'on, Averagejoe, Let's try and inject a little marvelous violence into these tadpoles that want to play tiddlywinks. Let the survivors live to be the Frogs that they are.
Even though the trade will never happen, I do agree that the Jets do not have a QB capable of winning anything. I am sick of Jets fans actually sticking up for Chad and wanting him to play. He is finished. He will blow the game for us everytime. Clemens is not the answer either. He showed absolutely nothing when played. Not even a hint that he is going to be good. If we go into the season with these two QBs we aren't winning anything. I don't care how much money we spend on free agents. We need a Franchise QB period. I'm not so sure about Quinn but we need someone. Whats funny is that the major objection to drafting a QB is that we would have to pay him too much money. Looks like we have the money. I guess the Jets higher ups don't think QBs are important.
You guys bitch about Clemens not showing anything last season...you try showing your stuff when you have less than 2 seconds to pass thanks to a swiss cheese offensive line... Give him a chance behind our revamped O-line, wait for results and if they don't come, complain your little lives away
they could trade the #6 to dallas for two 1's and a 3rd. at least one of those picks could net flacco. trade chad to try to get more picks.
I like Brohm the best in the draft. I am not completely sold on Ryan or Flacco but if I had to choose it would be Ryan. As far as Clemens goes, I do agree that he was playing with a bad offensive line and that did effect him. However, those times he was protected he showed absolutely nothing. The only reason Mangini played Clemens last year was to see what he had. We are in position to draft a Franchise QB and we should jump on it. Would you fault Tangini for drafting a franchise QB? I know I wouldnt.
schedule cant list post yet I am new and have to catch up, wanted to bring up schedule though. I tell you it looks "SOFT" especially at home- I would say we might be home favorite every game but NE and anything less then 6 2 would be dissapointing. 500 on the road and we are in the playoffs
Boy, I would say you have strong opinions. But what substantiates them? Opinion, is it? Well, the good thing about football is that it's black and white. They play the game. Somebody wins and others lose. So, now that the NYJ skill players are getting the deck stacked more to their liking and in their favor, perhaps the game will be more interesting and less frustrating, anger-inciting, and otherwise lousy? What are you guys going to do with yourselves when the OL does its job and our skill players are allowed to do theirs? Take a valium and enjoy yourselves, while the NYJ let some blood flow on the other side. Should be fun.
Quote: "...Whats funny is that the major objection to drafting a QB is that we would have to pay him too much money." But I disagree with you -- the major objection I have to throwing away all QBs, trading for some second class veteran like Brooks Bollinger and drafting some wet-behind-the-ears Newbie is all the time of this new OL will be wasted on these new saviors learning the BS offense and then figuring out how to play it well. You have to respect the steep and long learning curve that such a sophisticated offense represents to guys who have never seen it from the inside, let alone spent months and months making it work well with THIS team. Otherwise, it will be three years later, and the contracts on all the OL crumble, and your QBs are just learning to say, "Look, Mom, no hands! See!? I can ride the bike now!" It's important to recognize and take advantage of your opportunities while they are there. And ours is here. Dream about the future with somebody else's team you don't mind ruining, why don't you...?
Something about Quinn annoys me, maybe it's his chimp face or jack lalanne body (and yet he still looks small on a football field) he's overrated
