What is the best value at QB in this years draft. I am using the Jets picks to and what the Jets would NEED to do to determine the value. ie Leinart at #2 (meaning we would trade up to draft him) or Cutler at #4 etc. etc.

The reason for this poll, is because there are a lot of people saying to move up into the #2 spot to get leinart or take Young or cutler at #4. Then there are some people that are saying to get a QB in the later rounds. So, what is the best value. Is Croyle in the 3rd better than moving up to get Leinart?

I think they are all good value, but i dont see any of those guys outside of Matty L being true franchise QB's. I just dont like young or cutler that much. But hey thats just me.

I had to edit my original post. What I meant was more Is getting Croyle in the 3rd instead of moving up to get Leinart better where we could use the #4 to get Ferguson or Mario Williams and keeping the extra pick.

    EDIT :

    <----Post 1998 (what a great year!!!)

For those out there that still want to trade up.. Why? Why can't we be set with getting a QB later like Croyle?

Because clearly croyle clearly isnt as talented as the big 3, or else he would be up there with them. He is good, but he doesnt have the same tools as the other guys, at least not according to the draft gurus.

You mean the guy that stomped on an opponent on purpose in a bowl game? No thanks...

    Predictable response!

He would be great value to pick up. Great talent better passer than his brother and almost as good scrambler. Best of all you would be able to get this on the second day. Everyone makes a few bone head moves when young, let the kid grow up and deal with his mistakes then judge his character.

Exactly. Croyle has a terrific arm and he's a gamer, but he has almost no mobility and he's a walking medical chart. That being said, if he's there in the 3rd, I think we should take him--I think with the proper coaching (and, I can't emphasize this enough, A GOOD OFFENSIVE LINE), Croyle could be a good NFL QB.

But the biggest thing I like about Croyle is that we can get him in the 3rd without trading anything away. We have too many glaring needs to be trading away 1st and second round picks (and throwing a lot of money around) for a "franchise" QB who would get killed behind our swiss cheese line anyway.

After Leinhart, I would say Croyle in the third round

Drew Olson at #97 (3rd round)
Drew Olson at #103 (4th round)

Why would anyone think drafting him in the 3rd would be better value than the 4th?

Croyle in the 3rd and Olson in the 4th are steals IMO, I like Olson a lot...he put up great stats last year and didn't get much recognition for it. He'd be a good pick in the 4th.

Croyle wasn't that good. The only reason Bama did so well last year is because their defense was siiick. I like Charlie Whitehurst from Clemson. He's a solid Qb we could pick up for a late pick.

BUT I don't think we draft a QB this year. We got CP, Ramsey & Bollinger. If worse comes to worst we can scoop a QB next year.

Why'd you leave Omar Jacobs off that list?

    Or....not

There is no need to take a risk on a guy like Marcus Vick. I don't like guys that have issues like he does. He also had some problems with drugs if I am not mistaken not to mention his thug like actions.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

It has to be Leinart at #2. Most years he would be #1 overall.

Time will tell but Vick will be around longer than most QB's drafted this year and as I said some team will get him cheap. I don't it expect it to be the Jets, oh by the way did you see the Jets Draft blunders video?

did you see the Bills blunders videos that include 4 straight superbowl losses?

The video was capped off with Scott Norwood's 47 yard fieldgoal missing wide right.

Croyle would be a good p/u in the 3rd if possible. But remember we just lost Goodwin and we need to stock pile o linemen with our middle rd picks.

    Where the hell is Omar?

I think Omar Jacobs will be a good value (late 2nd / early 3rd).
