And that's not even the worst part. If it was 'just' 11 million, and I can't believe I typed that, but it's so much more. Think about all the money he got during the time he raped Daniel Snyder's wallet. Then he gets dealt back to us, and surprise, he wants MORE money to do it. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for him and his plight of poverty. I'm not saying he can't be unhappy about what's transpired this week signing FA's, but doing it publicly knowing what happened just last year with Kendall tells us EVERYTHING we'll ever need to know about him. Deal him, before he tries to undue all the good that's being done to improve this team.
What's worse is that he's even said "I don't want this to become like Pete Kendall last year". Well guess what, it's fast approaching that. He should just STFU already.
The bottom line is Cimini is a fucking scrub. I can see this both ways, Coles is nearing the end of his career and wants a nice 4 year deal type thing to carry him out, and to be honest those saying "we went 4-12, how does that merit a reward?", need to remember Coles was NOT one of the reasons that it happened, and sacrificed his body by playing injured to try to help out. He is a winner. On the other hand though this is a sports franchise and we're trying to win, the guy signed the contract, which means he agreed to the terms of it and should just honor it, he should have raised his voice THEN if he didn't like it. He will most likely NOT be worth what he wants, so it's up to management to decide whether the risk is worth taking and I wont fault them whichever way they choose. But the bottom line (as always) is FUCK CIMINI.
Jets veterans upset over FA deals? I'm sure we've all read where certain "un-named" Jet veterans are unhappy with the recent FA signings, as they wonder "when do I get mine?" Well, I almost fell off my seat. You've got to be kidding me. How selfish are these idiots (probably Coles or Rhodes) that you're upset because your front office is trying to make the team better and turn them into a winner. Thats just the kind of player I dont want on my team, and If Mangini holds true to his "good character" motto, and it was either one, then look for them to be gone soon. Jerks !
This I just don't get, Coles makes a ton of money as is and should be happy we've improved the team so much. He has a chance to WIN! I gotta give him credit though, he's a gutsy player so I can't get too mad at him.
There's already a pretty long thread on this topic, http://www.forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=30633&page=3
How many times has Coles reworked his contract and he is still not happy. Can someone explain to me if you have 2 years left on a contract WHY does it have to be redone? The media in this town sucks, they will look for anything to write about. If I was the Jets I would let Coles play till his contract is up and say thank you for playing for us. CYA
this is turning out like the kendall situation...will it bite us in our asses if he demands money and then we trade him. Maybe. But i hate players like this, trade him for another WR
Every off season it is the same old shit. Cimini finds a disgruntled vet to beak off about the coaching staff or the front office. It is the same old shit. Can you imagine if this idiot actually gave the fans something useful? I think he may give us all heart attacks. It is going to be like last year all the useful info Jet fans will get will be from JetCane, StaffJet, SundayJack (I apologize to the guys I can not remember by name right now) or some of the other fans that actually go to training camp and give us pertinent info. Cimini's info is just idle bedroom chatter a disgrunteld vet tells him when they are spooning. It really is amazing the disparity of good info we get from the posters of this site versus the so called "professional" beat writers. It has gotten to the point where I do not read a single shitting thing these twits say.... The Jets may just have the worst collection of beat writers in the history of Football, they are just terrible journalists, with a few notable exceptions.
Jets' spending spree reportedly leaves some vets feeling underpaid http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3278105 Here we go... you think vets would be happy to see the Jets finally bring in some talent to help get the team get to the next level, but no it's all about the money, forget winning.
Coles does not care about a super bowl; he wants Money!!!$$$. This is the fundamental difference between a guy like Curtis Martin and Levernious Coles. Curtis took Cay cuts and decreasing salaries to the Betterment of his team and the chance to win a super bowl. Coles will cause mass amount of trouble to the detriment of his team and will not care either way win or loose. While he was in Washington he was not extremely productive, the only reason he came back here was because WE knew he was a proven commodity.
Screw Coles and Baker. You have 2 years left on your deals, so STFU. And Cimini has done nothing but smoke knob since Herm left.
The last time Coles took a discount on something is when he received merchandise from the Dillards in tallahassee.
Id hang on to Baker and Coles , but I would set the precident that The Jets organization is the end all be all when it comes to paying people based on their contracts and not give in when people cry. PLease! Id go out there and lay out for passes for a 10th of the money these guys pull in!
Hypothetical: what if the player who was 'speaking on the condition of anonymity' is actually Kerry Rhodes?
I just don't get Coles Fact of the matter is this, doesn't matter what he says, he ALWAYS plays with inbelievable grit on the field. This guy never mails it in. If he talked like this and mailed it in, then by all means trade him...but that's not the case.
Actually, i think the one who delays the negotiations is Rhodes. If i where Kerry, i wouldn?t want to sign anything before November, with the additions on D he should have a pretty good chance of going the the probowl and demanding more money because of it. So bitching about more money wouldn?t make much sense.
