Let's assume for a second that all these free agent signings due come out to be positive for the Jets. With that being said what does this team now lack that prevents them from being a super bowl team? The one thing I don't think people should list just yet is QB, since we don't know what KC is yet.

He did have difficulties, but the one think I was really impressed by is the fact that he could get the offense down the field with 2 or 3 minutes left. This is something Chad couldn't do and the great QBs all have had the ability to run a 2 minute drive.

    Here is my list:

    1. Pass Rusher - If we get Gholston I think that takes care of that need. This team needs an elite all-pro type rusher.

    2. WR- Coles and Cotchery might become big play receivers with KC since he has a good arm, but right now we need more big plays from this group. If Coles can't get it done someone else has to. Cotchery is a good receiver and he is here long term.

    3. D-Line- This team needs a big time end who can cause havoc on the line like a Ty Warren or Richard Seymour from a few years ago. This will allow the LBs to really run free

    4. CB- It would be nice to find a good #2 opposite Revis, maybe Miller is that guy, but this team needs some consistency at the position.

I think if this team could figure out those needs and have KC be the real deal, this team is there. I think they are right now a lot closer than a lot of people think.

Remember New England's offense sputtered down the stretch and their defense now is an advertisement for the AARP. The time is now. Enough is enough with the cheaters, this team needs to take that step and win a superbowl. If the G-men can do it, why not us?

This team actually won playoff games in 2002 and 2004 while the G-men screwed up in the playoffs the last three times before this year.

    OFFENSE:
    FB, WR....deep threat, TE, draft a OL. RB...another rb needed.(Lamont Jordan) ?

    DEFENSE:

2 DE's, OLB, ILB (unless they keep Hobson), CB

This shows Jets' are doing an execellent job of addressing there teams needs.
The Woody signing adds needed veteran depth...even if he doesn't start.

I counted about 15 players needed for the Jets' to be improved & I thought it was near impossible for the Jets' to acquire that many upgrades in 1 off-season. They are happily proving me wrong.

I hope Jets' acquire more draft picks & can re-coup there #3 that they traded away. Jets' need at least 10 more positions upgraded & may really need to trade down...if possible. 9 more if they sign FB..Tony Richardson.

We don't need a tight end, Baker is fine

    1. A big, fast game breaking WR. Coles is too short and Cotchery is more of a #2 possession type. This draft is deep at WR so I would be extremely disappointed if the Jets don't land one, hopefully with their 2nd rd pick.

2a. A game breaking franchise RB. These guys don't come along all the time and when they are, you have to be fortunate to be in position to land them and then pounce on them. You guessed it, that means drafting McFadden if he drops in your lap. If he, or to a lesser extent Mendenhall, don't drop in your lap, then RB isn't a priority.

2b. An elite pass rusher. I think Gholston can be that guy and would be thrilled if he's the pick at 6, just as long as McFadden is already gone.

    3. A solid CB, with some height, opposite Revis. Not a desperate need, if your front 7 can get to the QB but it would be nice to have another solid CB that you have confidence in if he's isolated in man to man coverage.

    4. Depth at ILB. Someone who can take over for Hobson after this year would be nice.

    5. Defensive End depth. Someone who can take over for Coleman after this year would be nice.

    6. Free Safety and secondary depth in general.

    7. Tight End. I think Baker is underutilized but if this staff doesn't think he can handle it, they need to find someone that they think can.

    8. OL depth. That's what late rd picks are for. Hopefully Bender shows improvement.

I'm especially wary of WRs right out of the draft, but if the Jets can nab a speedy deep threat, that'd be gold. With the way the line is set up (and the acquisition of Tony Richardson), it seems the run game will be the feature of the offense. It'd be handy to have a burner out wide to either keep the safeties honest, or make them pay if they move up to defend the run.

Exactly, keep defenses honest and give Chad/Kellen a big target in the red zone. It's something that the Jets offense has been missing for ages. Maybe since Al Toon.
