not taking any sides on this since ive unfortunately never seen mcfadden play. but here's at least some "proof" youre not crazy: "McFadden totaled 268 points with 44 overall touchdowns and amassed 5,881 all-purpose yards (154.76 yards per game). He ran for 100 or more yards in 22 games, but had 23 fumbles, losing nine." not allowed to post links yet, my source is nfl.com combine page on mcfadden.
I also want people to see that he isn't a sideline runner. As you see in those videos, Most of big runs are through the tackles.
Just watched that-- I'm not saying he sucks... fumble prone, but i'm not creaming over him... History has shown we dont draft well with RBs--- highlights are great but if i put up a highlight of 23 fumbles and how he carries the ball in his arms then he'd look pretty terrible.
Mcfadden fumbled 3 times in the LSU game at the end of the season. I watched it. Twice on kick returns and once running the ball. Those 0 fumble stats are seriously wrong.
Yea, in the college game--- The NFL transition is a big one-- lotta guys don't make it through.. will he? yea, but i don't feel he's gunna pull a peterson, or a bush in his 1st year.
Weird- I just came across a site that said no fumbles, which I think is incorrect, and also came across this:
Mos Def! As you can see here in this graph, the chief acumen of a RB increases exponentially in proportion to the number of illegitimate children that RB has:
good rbs can be taken in the later rounds.6'4" 264 lbs lb running a 4.6 are hard to find draft gholston
This RB class is deep. DMF is a stud I will agree, but decent franchise RB's are available every year. I like thomas Jones as someone who is above average at the position. Draft someone we need for this team. Gholston, Long, Merling. Lets get that D solidified. plus character issues guys... hes not coming to the Jets lets get that straight.
There are few things more meaningless than the amount of rushing yards a college RB had. So many things factor into rushing yards rather than running ability - the inferior opponents, the lack of size and speed of college defenses, the huge holes opened by college lines. Look at all the RB busts that had great college careers. A pass rusher is so much more important and is a much rarer commodity in the NFL than a RB. The Jets would be crazy to pass on a potential pass rusher to take a RB. Gholston is a no-brainer if he is available.
I've seen McFadden fumble with my own 2 eyes. That being said, I'm starting to lean towards taking him.
Yeah because McFadden didn't single-handedly beat the National Champions in Triple OT rushing over 200 yards on the "#1 ranked defense." The man played in an extremely tough conference, maybe the best conference...McFadden is the guy.
