It's gonna be Gholston or McFadden(for who we draft) It's as simple as that. Also depending on who we take the Pats will take the other. So if we take Mcfadden the Pats will take Gholston & vice versa. I prefer we take Gholston. Jones will be okay this year

You know this "bowling ball" that the NYJ are going to sit down with today (Jesse Chapman?) was a really badly kept secret at the Chargers when BS was there. I think this guy can really discourage a defensive secondary when they find they have to tackle him and there are no "handles" sticking out, just a lot of punching, and gouging, and knees to the groin as this "fireplug" runs your ass over.

    Should be fun...

You know what Ahmad Bradshaw was yelling to the defense as he ran through the line and into the secondary?

--"Get Big!" "Get real!" "Let's go!"

a 185 lb CB could really get to hate a 210 lb guy who can out run him but chooses to knock him over first, instead.

    Should be fun...

Great post! I thought Chapman outplayed Brown, even though Brown had his best (half) year as a starter. Chapman would be a perfect "thunder" compliment to Leon's "lightning" and Thomas Jones'... uh... "rain?" I dunno. Metaphor bucket came up empty.

    What do you guys think.

With this new oline revamped. If mcfadden drops to the 6th pick, what about trading it to the cowboys for their 22 and 28 pick. Or maybe for Barber and the 28th pick or something along those lines?

because at 22 we could get stewart from oregon and still have the 28th pick to get a WR and with our 2nd rounder we can get Brian Bhrom or Joe Flacco

I'm starting to think 22 and 28 isn't enough. What's the chart say on what a #6 overall is worth?

Don't want Barber, not with TJ and Leon already here. He's not the upgrade that a McFadden represents as a game changing back.

Stewart could already be gone by pick 22 and another QB who is more of a project? No thanks.

So we're talking about 1600 for 1440, they'd need to throw in a 3rd rounder as well. The draft value chart never actually works out according to the points on draft day though you know?

So with all the money we are spending on FA and having to renew Rhodes contract i think next season or 2. It would be better to trade the 6th pick for more picks that would command a lesser salary and getting still quality players for the future. Let alone we would need a 3rd QB anyway and that would fill some of the needs we were looking for at least at the skill positions. Which is a gamble unless you have a sure fire player.

The Jets would be absolutely insane to not take Darren McFadden. I love the argument that they have more pressing needs. Name me it! Please. Please. Name me it.

Their #1 need is a dynamic offensive playmaker, of which they have...hmmm...let me just count here...none.

again, we do not need mcfadden, we need a big wr, thomas jones and lw will be good with this revamped line, we need a BIG wr, mcfadden had 23 fumbles getting hit by college size athletes, hes an outside runner not an up the middle break away guy. hes not going to be adrian peterson so get over it. if we dont trade d-rob to free some cap space i think we need to trade out of #6 for more picks.

A good idea for us would be to trade the 6 to detroit for roy williams and their 15, then draft a cb at 15 to go opposite Revis, since we missed out on Samuel. We get the WR we so badly need and Detroit does need a rb. And we really don't need Gholston with the signing of Pace. Imagine our how good our offense would be then. Detroit would possibily do assuming DMAC falls to six. That would be better than trading with Dallas, cause we get an experienced and proven guy in williams.

the team to beat is still the Pats .....to beat the Pats you have to pressure Brady plain and simple. You can't knock Brady to the floor with a complimentary RB to Thomas Jones. You draft someone that will knock Brady on his ass!

Giants best RB??????? they are all mediocre...they won with Defense against the unbeatable Pats.

    JETS will trade down

FORGET all this talk about McFadden we will trade down, here is what should happen.

Jets bring in Jesse Chatman and sign him as insurance to T Jones. I picked this guy up on fantasy team last year when Ronnie Brown went down so I watched him play a lot - he is actually a low end RB 1 but T Jones is def better. However, he is awesome insurance, and is the best if not one of the best RB backups. Throw in L Washington and we are stacked at RB.

The only guy that makes any sense at all is Gholston, but with the signing of Pace I think the chances of them taking him dropped off big time. Everybody else in the top 6 is not a good fit for our considering our OL free agent signings and DL free agent signings.

SO THE LOGICAL THING WE WILL DO is trade down and get more starters - I can see a WR, CB and LB as potential choices if we get two first rounder - from Dallas for example.
