We don't know the structure of either deal. My guess is that they have room for one more major addition before filling in the holes with lower-quality FA's and draft picks.
probably went from 28M to about 11M, i think after Damien Woody we'll be saving the rest for draft picks... we are going for broke this year... pray for a healthy season.
They can work it so they can get whomever they want. The cap keeps going up each year so let's be aggressive. Filling holes with pro bowl type talent is always a good plan.
its close to around 13 but if we move drob itll be about 20, and for anyone worried about next years cap number, penny will be off the books which will save us money, we still have plent of money and plenty of time, two things that will keep us flexible and active
I think they will re-work DRob's deal with an extension -- whether they keep him or trade him -- because he is not tradeable at $11 million over two years for anything. Redoing DRob's deal will change the whole situation -- whether they want to sign more FA or draft big time.
these deals don't make this coming season all or nothing, they lay the foundation for the next two to three seasons.
Who do you think we're going to pay to take DRob's contract off the NYJ's hands? And how much are we going to pay them?
I have my doubts about unloading DeW. He is has not made any mark in the league & at a cap hit of 11.5M he maybe not disposable
trading Drob will still cost us $6mm something and the acquiring team only pays about $5mm on their cap for him. I read that somewhere recently...
