Yea thats whats been bothering me too. The Jets laid out all there cards right off the bad. It could be a good thing if no one is willing to compete, but with Faneca stalling it certainly gives the other suitors the time they need to see if they can work something out. I guess we'll find out today.

Well, ESPN just said that Faneca just agreed to our 4 year deal, I don't know how credible it is, but they said he did, so I'm assuming he did. I'm very happy right now if this is true!

They've been saying that for a while now. Nothing is official yet.

The Jets may have a o-line that will produce 3 All-pros in 08. That is nasty.

On the other hand, if they had just handed that $1 mil bonus to Pete Kendall in the first place, the Jets would have been MUCH better off. This ridiculous contract to Fanseca seems like over-compensation.

If Tangini had done the right thing a year ago, they would not be spending this RIDICULOUS amount of money for what??? A LEFT GUARD???

These guys obviously have no clue...

There is no way anyone can be upset. The jets would be adding one of the best guards in the NFL to the weakest part of the team. If they spend a 2nd rounder on another olineman, the oline might turn into a strength.

Even I like this pickup. Nice to see they are finally spending some money and going after quality free agents. Now maybe when the trade Robertson then can get those picks or maybe even a second rounder instead.

LOL no kidding! That's about the most freakish, surreal, mmmgay thing I've ever seen. But hey I've always pegged workout warriors as bologna smugglers anyway.

The Kendall debacle has it's place no doubt, but Faneca is 2 or 3 times better than Kendall ever could be. We significantly upgraded the position. At least half our line is very good now and provides a side to start a running game with - some good stuff.

I'm trusting Michael Smith. I've heard he's a friend of Eric Mangini. Guess we'll find out when Faneca announces it at 6 PM ET
