this seems logical, if one teams offers you this, then you go ask the other teams what there offering. It's a natural progression, i still think hes coming to the gang green.

    Stay positive people.

I can't see him getting a better offer than what we gave him from the 9ers or Rams.

I think he is waiting for Arizon to try to do something about their cap situation. Something tells me that if he wanted to play for the Jets he would have been signed by now.

I hope the FO has a solid plan B ready..

We bit first... We lose... Never let ur right know ur left... The Jets just did that. The Jets gave Faneca a GREAT DEAL... But was it an offer he COULDNT refuse? If i was... He woulda shook our hand and signed ASAP... Now 2 other teams know the Jets hand in poker, they know our offer... They may offer another 1-2 million more per season...

Rams play in a dome with a GREAT RUNNING BACK, A SOLID QB, and a ELITE WR in Holt.

The 49ers have great weather with a Beast of a running back...

But Faneca did play in Pittsburg so im sure he wont mind the cold in NY, I just dont like the sound of this

Do u all really think the Rams or 49ers will make a offer thats less than the Jets?

I don't like the sound of a bidding war either, but the Jets put the best offer they were willing to on the table. This is a strength move by the FO to show any other suitors that they are serious about signing the guy.

I can't blame Faneca for waiting. This is the last big deal he's going to get in his career.

Weather has nothing to do with it, and even if it did...SF's weather blows....you want windy chilly weather conditions every game? Eff that...trust me, SF is not that great. If there were a team in LA, I would be agreeing with you

The Rams maybe, I just don't think the 49ers can afford it with all the money tied into Clements and recently signing 3 guys, one of them being DeShaun Foster.

It's going to be us or the Rams.

Jacob Bell. I have a feeling if Faneca falls through, you will see them give the hard sell to Bell.

I think it just means the only offer he's gotten has been from us, and he'll hear if SF or STL will give decent enough offers. It does show we have probably the most interest, and it's good they know that.

On the bright side it's 3 lousy teams competing for his services. If one of the teams was a contender I'd guess we were out of it, but it's 3 last place squads.

i mean, faneca would be nice, but i'd rather have jacob bell. he's a really good LG as well and is much younger. also, im very skeptical when the steelers let go of those star vets that they have, b/c they usually let go of them at the perfect time b4 their declines (prime example JOEY PORTER)

Seeing as you are using the poker metaphore , what if that is the plan. Say, Mangini is happy with either Bell or Fanaca but needs to get rid of the competition or at least whittle it down. Sting?
