Its Jenkins, I just saw it on the bottomline on the NFL Network again. The 20 mill signing bonus ironically is more than the 18.5 that Oaklands Tommy Kelly's signed for.
HOPEFULLY this FO added incentives in like he has to play 1-2 full seasons to earn a specific amount because last thing I'd wanna see is him attempting to be overweight(As an NT, you gotta) and then getting injured. Jenkins plays hard but you just need to motivate him.
Typical downer comment. LET'S HOPE THAT THE JETS CONTINUE TO NOT SPEND, GO 4-12 EVERY YEAR BUT HAVE ALOT OF CAP SPACE, NO?
Top 10 D?... one can hope. People undervalue what a good, shit, Pro Bowl NT will do for the front 7, the entire front seven regardless who is starting just got better because of Jenkins.
ESPN is crap this year. Last year they had every scoop and rumor plastered all over their website. This year, nothing! What the hell? Did they decide to take a year off?
Probably cuddling up in a ball over Randy Moss being a FA. They probably want to follow Moss's steps and pray he stays in Boston.
I've noticed this too. Foxsports.com, in their NFL section, has a big picture of Jenkins and an article link about the trade. Nothing from espn.com....
It is great for the NYJ compared to what Kelly got from the Raiders. Much smarter deal. Now Jenkins has to be really careful, because he got just what he asked for -- "there ain't no dogs on the NYJ!" He's got attitude, now let's see him do something with it.
Bad move. We had him for 2 yrs at 3M with no risk. We don't even know if he will be a good NT. What if he sucks as an NT? We had two years to evaluate him before giving him big $$. At least make him show he can play the position for a year. Stupid.
I like it, and i like Ghoulston in that equation. Don't forget about Shaun Ellis too. Still need more Dline help and depth, an ILB, and a CB. Let's hope for a solid draft, as the offense needs a lot too.
