The Jets are signing A.Faneca who is ONLY 31 years old? Wow... Faneca will turn Ferguson into a franchise LT, Faneca will help Mangold in ways that NO PLAYERS on the O-Line has ever done for Mangold....

Wow... A left side of the O-Line with Ferguson-Faneca-And Mangold? Am I missing something? I think that means Thomas Jones is going to have a monster season, Leon Washington is going to have a serious breakout season in his 3rd year as a RUNNING BACK, and Kellen will have time to connect with Coles, Cotchery, and Baker. If we can somehow, someway... Fix the right side of the Line, we now have an elite O-Line.

Also.... WOW... Are you kidding me? K.Jenkins? WOW... Thats a 3-4 NT if I ever seen one!

    V.Wilfork is...6'1, 323

    K.Jenkins is...6'4, 335... Thats a BEAST

Are you telling me that the JEts have a chance at adding Faneca to the O-Line and Jenkins to the D-Line? Are you kidding me? With D.Harris playing behind Jenkins? wow...

    Draft V.Gholston... Please

This is how everyone should be reacting. I am sick of the pesimistic bullshit people bring to this website. We have solved two major issues on the first day!! Jenkins will be a beast I am sure Mangini will get his ass on fire. We have to rely on him as a coach. Faneca will change the whole offensive line especially with Calahan coaching them. We save our 2nd pick for a RT. Probably Nicks and then we go from there. We pull Gholston to attack on defense and put thomas where he belongs and now we got some momentum. ROLL TIDE!!!!

The Jenkins trade is a great start, but I'm not gonna jump for joy until this Fancea deal is official, too many bitter memories of that Winfield deal.

Yeah, if in fact Faneca does sign with us...you could argue that the Jets filled their two biggest holes on the team.

    -Beast NT
    -Beast LG

If we are able ot aquire both Jenkins and Faneca this offseason it is a major step forward for the Jets.

Anyone who is not happy would seem to be a troll who's pissed because thier days of bitching about things will be comming to an end.

If it all breaks out like this our FO looks like they will be filling the biggest team needs predraft at a low cost. I could not be any happier.

If we sign A.Faneca... Not only are we adding a monster for the LG position... We are upgrading 2 more positions... Center and LT...

With Faneca, who is only 31 years old, playing inbetween Ferguson and Mangold is HUGE!

We thought Mangold was a Pro Bowl type Center playing next to P.Kendall? lol... Pete Kendall who?

We all wanted Ferguson to be a franchise LT? Now he has his chance...

If and I mean IF we sign Faneca,,, The Jets just upgraded 3 positions, not just 1

Great post.... nobody can be mad at the FO for at least attempting to make this franchise a SB team. Faneca is a 7 time pro-bowler and more importantly an anchor on a SB winning line. Jenkins when healthy and motivated is an absolute monster. He also is a 3 time PB player. So in less than 24 hours it appears the Jets will bring in 2 guys that have been selected to 10 pro bowls between them. That's quality and more importantly leadership....

Attempting is far from doing. Just because we are 'in' for a player doesn't make it a certainty. I'm not cocker-hoop just yet , I'll save that WHEN we sign the above mentioned.

Agreed. I'm not exactly jumping off the walls yet because Faneca isn't signed AND it is just the start of the off-season... but I am very happy the Jets are trying to be competitive in the most competitive division in the NFL, and that they aren't happy with being second rate citizens. That much I can give props on.

That was during the Herm ERA, so I don't blame Winfield for not signing here. But I do agree with you, I will jump for joy once Fancea is signed.

Hence the "If we are able to aquire" in the lead of my post. None of these are completed deals as of yet, but all the signs point that they are comming.

If we get them its huge, if not it will be a huge let down to most of the fanbase, and the trolls will beat the drum of how our FO does noting over and over again.

Those were their weights coming in as rookies. They are both estimated to be in the 350-360 range now.

It does seem like a dream, doesn't it?

Like a lot of other posters have pointed out, I really think that the Giants' SB win really shook Woody and the FO. Glad to see we're at trying to get something done this offseason :)

We haven't signed Faneca yet! Please, this is all speculation. I just read on espn.com that the CARDINALS are the front runners for Faneca:
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=yasinskas_pat&id=3268769
The Bucs were 9-7, but lucked out at times. They have to get better to be a serious contender, and their wish list starts with playmakers at running back and wide receiver. They also were sniffing around Gross before the Panthers put the franchise tag on him. A lot of people assume Pittsburgh guard Alan Faneca will end up in Arizona, but the Bucs might make a play to strengthen the interior of their offensive line.
