I think he'd be worth looking at to help out in the run game

I think Mangini gave up on the idea of a fullback.

yeah i think he did, but look where that got us.
Improve the oline first obviously, but if a savvy tank veteran like Neal were asking for reasonable salary, it is worth entertaining..

He was only getting paid something like 1.5 or so per year prior to his release so I can't see him asking for all that much. In addition to being a great blocker he'd probably be a good veteran presence and leader on the team.

Agreed. think T Jones would enjoy Faneca, Neal, and high draft at RT?
would definitely bring a swagger and renewed confidence to this run game.

I would one hundred percent try to sign the best fullback in the NFL to a short term deal (2-3 years).

Neal is another example of a talented guy we gave up for nothing after we let him go following the '97 season.

Curtis had one of his worst years for us, Byars was HURT for the crucial strecth to end the season that got us the div and a 1st rd bye and his huge fumble at the Den 10 in the title game may have cost us a Championship. How unsung was he? what did he really do for us?
