Looks like the Jets are going to be adding a NT one way or another and these seem to be the guys they want. Who would you prefer? I think Rogers has more attitude problems and Kris Jenkins has the injury prone past. I think I still like Shaun Rogers, but Jenkins has started in 36 consecutive games so that shows me he is probably over his injury woes, so I wouldn't be upset with him either. Who do you want? Why?
ohh man..ill take either one...i guess who ever we can a better deal on. if this is all true..its a great postion to be in and to have options.
Who do you want? (Kris Jenkins or Shaun Rogers) How old is Jenkins and what does his salary look like. I think it doesn't matter so far who we get, but would like to know if Robertson can play end in the 3-4 system. I agree with some that it would be worth while to see if he can play end. He has played well at times and just has to put together an entire season. By putting him at end he would not be doubled as much and should be a beast. Just a thought since we already have invested so much in him and he is still young instead of giving him to another team for a second or third rounder. We also can afford to keep him cause there is enough money under the cap. I mean we waited this long, now that we are finally getting a true nose tackle for the system we should just see what happens when he is at end.
point is d-rob costs sooo much...he def would be a nice DE and will take up nice space..dont forget about coleman who did very well he just has to get more sacks
Here's what I want Coles and Vilma for Rodgers and Roy Williams and keep DRob put him at end and renegiotate his contract.
from the Detroit Free Press comments section: "...suggested vilma a few days ago, and i really like him. he got a bum deal in ny. but our biggest bargaining chip in a trade, rogers, doesnt fit nyjets scheme.." Don't hear too many people talking about the fact that Rogers plays in a 4-3 and would be getting double teamed a lot more.
Is there any way we can get both? Vilma for Jenkins Robertson for Rogers. Play Jenkins as NT, Rogers as DE. Put Bowens/Ellis at the other DE position, use Ellis/Thomas for WOLB, draft Ghoulston for the SOLB, keep Harris and Barton in the middle. Guys, that's not a bad front 7 and we'd be in position to play a very interesting hybrid 3-4/4-3. Just about everybody would be good at rushing the passer and be big. The only thing I would worry about at that point is age since we'd be getting older with only 2 young guys (Harris/Ghoulston).
Jenkins is at least tough and mean-minded. Rodgers is a Pilsbury Dough Boy. I don't think ole Shaun will take to getting doubled all the time in the 3-4 / 4-3 Hybrid we run. Jenkins surely seems to have more attitude.
I want back at the 4-3, thats what I want, where these guys have actually had success, 3-4 is so risky with player personal being really low and competition for these players really high. Sopoaga would have been a huge boost to our D in the 3-4, but if you rank him with all the other talent available this off-season he would barely crack the top for overall purposes. That is the major problem with the 3-4
