As a Fresno State alum, David Carr is one of my favorite non-Jets... I'm pretty sure he's going to hang up his shoulder pads and retire ending his less than stellar career that was supposed to be full of promise. Carr had the talent to succeed, but getting hit so much and being sacked over and over in Houston really messed with his head. This just goes to show everyone complaining about signing Alan Faneca how important a strong o-line is. Let's protect Clemens, so he doesn't lose all of his confidence like David Carr.
Not breathtaking good. No, breathtaking bad like sucking the air out of your lungs and leaving you to suffocate.hmy:
The Houston O line situation was so bad, he became such an afraid QB running for his life, that it destroyed his career, that being said, he wont be any good in a Jets uni, unless we trade CP and of course if we trade CP bringing Carr in very cheap would at least solve our lack of a backup QB.
That was last year. I think Carr proved kind of conclusively that he's too shell-shocked to be a good NFL QB at this point. Could you put him behind a very strong line and have him be very good? Probably, but nobody is going to take the chance at this point after the spectacle of Vinny T getting yet another chance to play because a team's other options had all gotten hurt or failed. It's too easy to be the next team calling Vinny in desperation in November if you rely on Carr.
