hmm...Jason Dunn was releases, could be a good blocking TE...Ty Law was released...might go back to the Pats as a safety, but ya never know, Eric might want him here...and Kendrell Bell is now cut...he was the Jonathan Vilma of the 4-3, a 3-4 LB who was very unproductive in the 4-3...he could be a good fit if we get rid of JV which I hope we don't cause we would regret it for a very long time, it would be another bad chapter in what all Jets fans call a miserable franchise...
Jason Dunn is arguably the best blocking tight end in the NFL...but that's all he can do. Ty Law has history with Mangini, but I don't know if he'll want to come back. He'll most likely end up with the Patriots...or maybe the Browns. Kendrell Bell WAS an absolute beast in Pittsburgh's 3-4 defense, but his play has dropped off in KC. He could be a good signing if he comes cheap.
ive been saying it for a while give bell a shot we need to sign him. He wont be too expensive we need lbs and i feel bell will return to his level of play like when he was in pittsburgh
Hmmm... Jason Dunn is similar to Anthony Becht in terms of blocking. I'll add these guys to my free agents thread.
Dunn a Stud A Jason Dunn signing will make an immediate impact on our running game, as this allows us to implement more two TE-sets. Dunn is a superior upgrade over Sean Ryan or Kowaslowski. Chris Baker can be even more emphasized in the passing game as a receiver, and with a young quarterback this can only be a good thing.
question: why sign a blocking te instead of just playing with 6 o-lineman? call bender a "te" and turn him loose.
